This surround system is the HiPulse N512. Setup was so simple I literally had it up and running in 10 minutes. If your TV has an ARC (or eARC) HDMI output, simply connect to the surround unit's ARC input, select PCM sound and ARC as your audio output. One HDMI cable and your TV's remote should control this unit (on/off and volume + -) so long as your TV has ARC/CEC (Consumer Electronics Control) support that's enabled. The unit comes with its own remote, but if your setup works with ARC/CEC, you may only need to reach for the included remote for adjustments or to switch modes. My family had no need to learn a new remote, as the same controls they were used to from the TV remote controlled this sound unit perfectly. You can also connect via the included optical cable, but you will lose the ARC/CEC features. (You'll need to control the volume and on/off with the unit's remote.) You can also connect devices via 3.5mm AUX jack (cable included) or stream from devices like your phone via Bluetooth 5.3. The unit has the main center unit, two left/right front speakers, subwoofer and two rear surround speakers that connect to each other via cable, and wirelessly to the main unit. The main unit has an LED display that's very helpful, displaying the connection type (ARC, BT etc.) as well as numbered volume and tone levels. You'll really enjoy this unit if: you are looking for much better audio than your TV's speakers, or better than a simple sound bar without separate surround channels. You may not enjoy this unit if: you're an audiophile that wants true, high end Dolby Atmos certified surround sound. In fact, this unit recommends you turn Dolby Atmos output OFF from your TV or device and use PCM. That said, I find the unit provides a very good listening experience. The surround effect is from this system's own proprietary "Discrete Spatial Expansion Technology". Most content you likely watch is not encoded specifically for surround like Dolby Atmos, so this system defaults to creating its own surround stage for all content. You can use the remote to switch between modes tailored for: Movies, Music, News and Games. The surround effect is pretty good. Watching movies and TV shows, I felt the effect of audio filling the room, rather than just coming from the front of the room. Sound effects, ambiance and music come more from the front and back left/right speakers, while dialogue remains clear in the center channel. An effect that’s been mixed to pan around a soundstage is fairly convincing. I like that this sounds good at a higher volume, but equally as important: it sounds good at lower volume also, such as the "Night mode". You don't have to blast your neighbors or housemates to enjoy the audio. At first, I felt there wasn't enough bass output coming from the subwoofer, especially in "Music" mode. But I quickly discovered the remote control has precise bass and treble controls. The front readout on the main unit displays numbered levels as you change them. I found just +2 level Bass made a perfect improvement for the room I use this in. You can use the included remote to dial in the exact tone to fit your room and listening preferences. Another feature I like with this unit: rear surround volume control! This is such a no-brainer, it annoys me that this control isn't always on other surround systems. On first listen, with my rear surround speakers located on a shelf just behind the sofa, I found the rear surround just a touch overpowering. With some surround systems you may have to live with too much, or too little rear surround effect. With this unit, from the remote you can adjust the rear surround volume independent of the main volume. Such a no-brainer! For me, turning down the rear channels just a few levels balanced out the surround stage perfectly. The addition of this control is a really nice touch for getting the perfect level of surround sound for your room and setup. The speakers (and subwoofer) have dark wood sides and look very nice. The two rear speakers have up-firing drivers as well, something I didn't expect. Also, these are relatively small speakers- even the subwoofer- so you won't feel like you're filling up a space with big bulky speakers. When set up in a living room or den, these speakers are barely noticeable. The main unit is just the right height to fit neatly under most flat screen TVs on a stand, or just in front of it without blocking the screen at all. The speakers all have mount points for wall, or speaker stands. I'm very pleased with this surround sound unit! If what you want is better audio and a more immersive sound experience than stock speakers, at a very reasonable price, the HiPulse N512 delivers!

This sound system has completely transformed my home entertainment experience, earning it a well-deserved five-star rating. The overall sound quality is exceptional, creating an immersive environment that pulls me into movies and music. The clarity and depth of the audio are remarkable, making every detail crisp and distinct. I was particularly blown away by the front speakers, which deliver an incredibly powerful and detailed soundstage that really makes the experience. While the instructions were a bit confusing at times, I was able to figure everything out after a little bit of trial and error. The sound, especially from the front speaker, is absolutely incredible. It provides a rich, detailed, and dynamic listening experience that I have come to expect with a high-end system. The clear voice reproduction and deep bass are truly impressive, enhancing everything from movie soundtracks to my favorite music tracks. The system's ability to create a virtual surround sound is also quite impressive, making it ideal even for smaller spaces. I'm very happy with how well the sound is distributed across the room. I do have a minor suggestion for improvement. The back speakers are wired to each other, but not directly to the main unit, which is a shame. A fully wired connection, in my opinion, would provide even better sound quality, especially given the plethora of wireless interference in our modern world. The constant barrage of 2G, 5G, 6G, Bluetooth, and other signals can introduce some unwanted noise, but a wired connection is always better. While wireless options may seem convenient, the clarity and fidelity of a wired connection are simply unmatched, in my experience. The instructions do mention this, but I want to emphasize how crucial speaker placement is. Before I adjusted the speaker height, I wasn't completely thrilled with the sound, but putting them at ear level made an immediate and dramatic difference. I was surprised at how much better the sound became once I made this simple adjustment; it's like night and day. This system really shines when the speakers are positioned correctly, and the instructions point this out, which is great. Overall, this sound system is a fantastic purchase, offering exceptional sound quality and a truly immersive listening experience. The powerful front speakers, combined with the virtual surround sound, create an environment that is perfect for movies, music, and gaming. While the setup could be slightly clearer, the results are well worth the effort. I would definitely recommend this system to anyone looking to upgrade their home theater setup; I am very happy.
