I'm getting older and I have a lot of heavy machines in my shop that I need to lift up at and it's getting harder to do, so I thought I could use this come along and make a manual lift to hoist up the machines. The come along seems pretty sturdy and the cable is really thick so I think it will be able to handle anything I would need to lift. I already have a bar mounted to the ceiling that I was using to lift things with a pulley attached but using just a pulley is really limited. It look just a minute to attach the come along to the bar but I'm having a hard time operating it since there are no instructions and I'm not sure how to get it to work the way I want it to. So for now I'm doing some internet searches and watching YouTube videos trying to figure out the best way to configure and operate the come along in order to use it as a make shift hoist. Beyond the only concern I have now is that I don't know how much weight the bar that the come along is mounted to can handle. So once I get it working I will need to be careful with my lifts until I can come up with something more secure but hopefully it will work the way I wanted.

Never had one before but I think I could use it frequently. Seems easy to use. Ratchet mechanism works fine so far.

The media could not be loaded. I have mixed feelings about this come along. I really like the design; the mechanism is smooth and is the easiest come along that I have ever worked. My disappointment lies in the advertised length of 5.9 feet, this length is greatly overstated as mine measured 50 inches which is 20 inches shorter than the advertised length. This discrepancy is not minor as the extra 20 inches in length makes a big difference when using this around the farm. I like the build, design, and quality of this come along but since the come along I received is 20 inches shorter than advertised I can only rate this come along at 3 stars.

This come alone wench puller is actually quite nice. I have used ones from the home stores and this has a very different ratchet mechanism that I think actually works much nicer and it easier to use.
