Style: 40V Multitool
This product performs the two utilities I've used which is weed-wacker and hedger. I have not used the chainsaw as I still need to purchase oil (should have been included). Assembly was fairly easy with a small bit of confusion due to your typical less than stellar instructions. Product construct overall is fairly solid though the right angle holding bar is practically worthless being so flimsy. It also comes with only one charger where both batteries are needed to run the unit. Effectively doubling your charging time in between uses. They do have a rather cheap charger available for purchase though. However, the lack of adjustable length proves to be an inconvenience, though not insurmountable for a shorter person such as myself (5'6"). Also, the weed wacker must be physically turned as it has no rotating head in order to do edges. I now see why buying a tool that does three jobs is perhaps less than optimal. Individual tools would have been much more adjustable and convenient to use for their relative functions. I will continue to use my beat up weed wacker till it finally dies over this new weed whacker simply because of the lack of adjustability. The power and cutting is not in question, just it's ease of use for someone my size. The hedger (which was the original reason for this purchase) will be used for the top of my hedges which are tall. However, I am considering purchasing a normal hedger to take care of the sides. Would I purchase this again? If I were 6 ft tall, yes. At 5'10 or shorter I would consider individual tools depending on your monetary situation. I needed an extendedable hedger and rather then go for the individual unit, I thought pay a few more bucks and get two more utilities. While this is still true, having used the extendable hedger now, I probably would have just bought a regular hedger and climbed the ladder like I always did. Life lessons as always :) Four stars rather than five for lack of adjustability, poor instructions for assembly, only one charger when two batteries are required. The line trimmer works great from the very first use. The pole saw is lacking in power though. It did not do a good job on a 2 inch branch hanging over the roof.

Style: 40V String Trimmer
I ordered the WILD BADGER string trimmer mainly for the sidewalk edging capability. After setting it up and testing it, here what I noticed: * The assembly was pretty easy. Put the handle and grass protector on, and that is all there is to do. The hardest part was peeling the protective tape off of the string blade (cuts off the excess length). * The best feature for me is that its noticeably lighter than my other trimmer. My other trimmer gets heavy and can hurt my shoulders after long use. This trimmer is lighter, and the power is equivalent. This design does not have a spinning shaft running inside the trimmer pole for power, so its simpler and seems to vibrate less also. * The sidewalk edging feature works pretty well. I found you have to keep the wheel on the grass side, and not the concrete side (run trimmer with wheel in the grass moving left to right). If you try to get it too perfect it will cut a small slot in the grass along the sidewalk. I found its best to not go for perfection and keep moving. Not perfect, but you can move fast, and it looks good enough from the street for me. * Trimming works well also, and it seems to have adequate power. I did notice the different shape of the grass shield (out front and on right side). This makes it harder to poke forward under and against things. So, I had to change my technique and move from left to right along the house, and swing to the left to get under brush, etc. It works fine, but the technique was different than my other trimmers that you move forward with. I also think this grass shield did a better job of keeping flying debris off me while trimming, so it's improved in that regard. * The auto-feed of the string worked well. It does seem to chew on the string frequently, so I hope it is not over feeding. I did not see in the instructions where you could adjust this. It may be that you should rev up the speed and leave it running more, and not run it hi/low as I normally do. This seemed to cut down on the string feed. It worked fine, this was just my observation. * It also has good length and reach. I am 6'2" and have long arms. I extended the trimmer pole all the way, and also mounted the handle upside-down from what is shown in the instructions. That let me just reach the ground for trimming, and overall had better balance for me, as the handle grips the pole lower. * The fit and finish of the parts was good enough for a yard tool. Overall, I like this trimmer/edger and will update this review if I learn more or have issues. Recommended. ... show more
