We live in a 200+ year old log house. We have mini-splits for basic heating and air conditioning. We rely on our large, old woodstove as a main source of heating during the cold months. I cannot recommend these fire starter sticks highly enough. They are fool-proof and guarantee a fast start to our morning fire. They are clean, retain heat long enough to really get the fire started and they do so with no waste or unwanted odor. I used to use the "brick" style fire starters...but no more! These fatwood fire starter sticks are the best!

Fire starters themselves are great. 40 pd box is a mess & I’ve got to find a way to store them. I usually get the 10 of box which comes in a sturdy & closed box. 40 pound came came inside a larger box & its an open, torn box inside. I have no idea if there’s actually 40 pounds or not as it looks like the box broke apart & spilled everywhere then was just thrown back into broken box🤦🏼♀️ I wouldn’t recommend the 40 pound or buy somewhere else.

These are great, because they really work. I have been repeatedly disappointed by products billed as "fire starters", but these are worth the money. You also don't feel like you are pouring dubious chemicals on to the fire that ends up in the smoke you breathe. They make getting a fire going a whole lot easier.

We burn firewood to heat our home and this has made life easier on those cold mornings when starting up the stove. It’s a product from Mexico, if buying American made products is a concern.
