I like these submersible pumps that move water. It is not so strong it creates turbulence, yet not so weak it appears to "struggle" to make the water flow steady and evenly. I use this pump in a recycle water feature where there is a catch basin/holding area where the water cascades down a number of "spillways" and eventually ends up there where it is then recycled back to the top of the feature where it "spills" out a controlled area where the water starts its journey all over again. I use a fairly large "holding tanks" at the start and the finish areas so there is always ample amounts of water in the feature, (taking into consideration all the little creatures that come to drink and the evaporation process, especially during the hot summer months. Our backyard is like the summer oasis to birds and little furry animals but without these pumps "doing their thing" these features would not even be here. Moving water is always an attraction, not just to people either.

For as small as this thing is it's pretty formidable. Setup was easy as it was pretty much ready to go out of the box and only required the outlet be screwed in place. This thing does move water, and probably moves it better over short vertical ranges than farther ones. I got his in hopes it would help me create a hydroponic vegetable tower by moving water up a 1/2 inch PVC pipe and allowing water to cascade back down. I started at the lower flow level and attached the pipe and saw that while yes water did move up the pvc pip it barely did so and the water flowed down the outside of the pipe. So I thought just turn up to flow volume and I would get the spray I was looking for. Unfortunately low to high didnt have any visible difference when moving water up a 4 foot - 1/2" pvc pipe. I know gravity plays a part how strong a pump needs to be but to move water straight up but I was hoping it could handle 4 foot verticle as alot of larger aquariums are 2 feet tall minimum. I guess I was hopefuly this had just a little move oomph. So if are using this for a verticle application, know that yes it goes up as described above, but it only tricks out and there is hardly any pressure at that height. Otherwise if you are using this for a 1 foot high or almost sump pump sort of way, it will probably work for moving water over shorter distances or draining something tall like a fountain.

I've got some water features in my yard that require a decent pump to power. This unit is going to do the job and do it well. It's well built and powerful, shooting water about waist high when testing the unit. It looks durable but as anyone knows who uses them, the proof is found at the end of the season, if the pump makes it that far. I have a feeling this pump will go through at least a couple of long summers before it requires replacing. If I'm really lucky, I'll get another one or two seasons before I'll need to take action. Overall, no real quibbles and looking forward to getting the fountains up and running as spring stretches its legs and starts running towards summer.

For the money this a great buy. It's powerful...almost too powerful for my application. It can be adjusted, but even on lowest setting it really cranks out the water! May need to adjust my configuration. It comes with a couple outlet options and a mesh bag to help filter debris. I really like the intake at the bottom, can be used in shallower situations than most of the pumps in this size.

This is a really nice pump, it comes with a few different attachments and a decent length of tubing. The mesh bag is working to keep algae and leaf debris away from the motor plus it makes it easier to pick up to clean. It is quite powerful and works well with both of my spitters and even powered my larger fountain. It's main purpose is for a little spitter frog on the side of my pond this year- I have a large filter pump/fountain as my main circulation. Overall I am happy with this pump, it appears to be well made, runs quietly and has good flow.

I found a versatile solution for my backyard fountain with this 400GPH Fountain Pump. Its compact size and compatibility with smaller nozzles make it a great fit for my setup. I appreciate the thoughtful design, especially the wide 360-degree suction feature. However, I've noticed a potential flaw in the grill design as the pump doesn't sit perfectly flat within my fountain, raising concerns about debris bypassing the filter and potentially clogging the pump. Nonetheless, despite this minor issue, the pump has been performing admirably, keeping my fountain running smoothly.

I ordered this to circulate the water in my cold spa so I don't have to change the water as often. A splash of chlorine and circulation helps a lot. This works great to move the water around, and it turns out it keeps the water more consistent temp throughout because it's moving. Should work fine for a fish tank or a scenic waterfall in a rock garden. Many uses. The cord is fairly long, and it comes with a flexible (clear) tube so you can run the water where you want it.

The media could not be loaded. I got this pump to drain my fountain so I can do some maintenance on it and clean it up for spring. It worked perfectly and quickly. All I needed to do was connect the hose and plug it in. As you can see from the video, the flow is significant. I selected this particular pump because it has a narrow base and it will fit in the 2nd tier of the fountain. It works great! Recommended buy!
