I have an around 5000 gallons pool, and this 16000BTU pool heat pump works great. Just be patient that the initial warm up target temp took about a day, but it cost you nothing. After that it held the temperature very steadily with only minor fluctuations, so I didn’t have to keep adjusting it. The unit is extremely quiet — I can sit by the pool without being bothered — and the control panel is intuitive with useful scheduling and temperature settings. Since installing it, swimming has become much more comfortable and enjoyable, especially for evening swims and on cooler days. i will first and foremost say the actual product basically does what it claims. i've followed other routine tricks like the solar cover at night, and kept everything going and ended up getting the water from 66 degrees 2 days ago to 82 degrees today. now, however i will state the APP SUCKS!!!! it is the absolute worst thing i have ever used. it constantly loses IP or connectivity or something and first couple day was easy enough to reconnect. now 3rd day you have to unplug the unit, remove the device from app, plug unit back in, readd the unit to app and pray to god it actually connects or start the process all over again. and yes it has to be connected to the internet so if you're out signal strength away from your house or modem you're just out of luck. and if the on device interface was a little more user friendly as well i might have given it another star but again just USING it in general is frustrating ... show more

This was actually very easy to install. Once we had it hooked up, it was simple to connect it to the Smartlife App. The heat pump is very quiet and works efficiently. It takes longer to heat than a conventional electric pool heater, but a fraction of the cost. My old pool heater drew 88 amps at 220 volts. This unit is a fraction of that.
