I am a retired 71-year-old, managing several properties in an active adult community in Arizona. I had one of two AC units in a house die. I need it replaced. Unfortunately, after calling several AC installers, I was given a three-to-four-week delay for installation. My tenant's senior citizens can't live without AC in Arizona. So, I went online to find something that could bridge the gap and not break the bank. After several hours of shopping online and comparing lots of options, I purchased the 3531 CFM Evaporative Air Cooler, Mountman Portable Swamp Cooler, 10.6-Gal Tank, 120° Oscillation, 41" Water Cooler Fan for Indoor and Outdoor Patio, Porch, Yard. I purchased the unit because of the size of the tank, the fact that it doesn't need the window venting, making it easy to move room to room, the price is extremely competitive and the fact that Mountman provides a three-year warranty compared to other sellers with a one-year warranty. PLEASE READ ABOVE ALL THE SELLER'S DISCRIPTION OF THE QUALITIES OF THIS PORTABLE AC UNIT!!!! It has only been a few days, but my tenants are more than satisfied. This unit will enable them to stay cool. On the positive side, the house has two AC units and the one that covers the main house is still running. The unit that needs to be replaced covers the bedrooms. The new portable AC is in their bedroom, so other than adding water once or twice a day, everything is good. I am going to order at least one more so there will be no delay if any tenant loses an AC unit. Great inexpensive bridge unit the new unit is installed. Great investment even if you don't manage houses; I plan to use it in an Arizona room and the master bedroom so I can turn off the air to the AC unit cooling two other bedrooms. GREAT INVESTMENT!

I bought this unit because of it’s ability to add ice packs. The hose connector was missing a piece to connect to a garden hose. However, this company stands by their product because they immediately let me know that my order must have been missing this piece and immediately shipped it to me. Despite this, the swamp cooler works great, and it gets a two thumbs up from my wife, who prior to the arrival of the cooler, refused to sit on the patio when temps went into the 90’s. Operating on high, (which is very very quiet) temperatures in the low 90’s (93 to be exact) dropped to a very comfortable 84 in Central Texas Hill Country heat. The oscillating fan cools the entire 22’ x15’ patio, and evenings outdoors are now quite enjoyable. The ice packs add to the cooling effect. Definitely would buy this one again.

This Air Cooler works really good. It comes with 3 ice packs that you fill with water and freeze. When you place the ice packs the water flows over them and provides cool air. There are 3 levels of air flow, slow, medium, and high. Siting outside on a hot day this Evaporative Air Cooler blows cool air with a wide coverage. We enjoy siting outside and this cooler allows us to enjoy our Lani on a warm day. It holds 10 gal of water and is easy to fill.

Some reviewers complain about it not working with a regular hose, they must have been missing a part. Mine came with the adapter, it works fine. The cooler seems to lower the temp maybe 15 degrees on the patio so if it’s 95 outside it can make it pleasant especially if you are in the breeze. If you are cooling the inside of a building put the unit a couple feet outside the door and point it in. It only works by adding moisture to dry air. Will not work by recirculating inside air. It cools down the garage appreciably.

This evap cooler is very efficient and well designed. It is well worth of money. Now we can have a pleasant time sitting in the backyard patio in the heat of Arizona summers! My backyard is sloped to drain the rain water so I noticed the cooler is not pouring the water evenly on all sides (actually one side was totally dry). Then I sticked a tiny level gauge and added a shim to make the water pouring on all the sides and it got much better (see pictures). My suggestion to the manufacturer is to add the level gauge and to make the wheels adjustable in order to be able to keep the cooler at a level position at every place for better efficiency.

Unit works well but when you turn it off at night leaks all over the floor. Not recommended for inside of a house. Does ok in my greenhouse where water all over the deck isn't a problem.

I'm a smoker who doesn't smoke in my house. That can get a bit uncomfortable during the Arizona summers. This works great by itself up until about 105°. The nice thing about this one is the front shoot that allows you to pour a bag of ice into the water reservoir and help this thing cool even when it's 110°+. I would have given it 5 stars if after a month of running it the water pump hadn't stopped working. I managed to take it apart and get it working again but ordered a spare pump in case I can't get it working again the next time.
