OK, this is a replacement for damaged one I was sent, yes, sent, no damages on Amazon box. This one arrived safely packed in original packaging inside an Amazon box. It was this box inside a huge Amazon box, w no padding or packing papers. I got it, unwrapped it, ya, no damages. I unpacked it, no damages. Plugged it in, made toast. Works, yay, Only reason 4 stars, cause it's a GORGEOUS old school retro look and cream color, it doesn't toast evenly on both sides. Not a huge deal, just honest statement. Would I recommend, yes, because it is exactly what I wanted, and it does work

I grabbed this toaster right after a cheaper model I was using died on me. I liked the aesthetic and that it was able to toast more items at a time. And while the overall build quality is fine- this model could improve on its buttons and "lever": - The button that sets your desired doneness is black and the notch that tells you where the dial is set, although raised, is also black. I understand it takes very little time to search the button with your finger to see how its set, but that's not very user friendly. Coloring the notch in a matching silver, or something similar would be an improvement. - The lever you drop to start the toaster is a bit clunky and gives a slightly cheap feel- like it might break because of the feedback -The button you need to press to release the lever and stop toasting manually is not a smooth press as well Overall, the toast it produces and the time it takes are both normal. I gave this four stars because the design issues are fairly subjective. If you like the look and the price you shouldn't be scared off.

This retro red toaster has quickly become one of my favorite kitchen additions. Not only is it functional, but it’s downright fun to look at with its shimmering ruby finish that is giving me some serious Dorothy’s slippers vibes. I love that I can toast four slices of standard bread at once, and the extra-long, extra-wide slots mean I can fit everything from bagels to odd-shaped artisan slices without the frustrating half-toast-and-flip routine. The dial is clear and easy to read, with visual guides for each shade level, and I was able to use it right out of the box with no issue. There was a slightly weird smell the first few times I used it, but that went away quickly. So far, everything’s been toasting evenly. Definitely a win for me in both form and function.

Yes this is called a 4 slice toaster and it does toast 4 regular sized slices at the same time, (which I can't live without), but it is also wonderful for longer slices, like those round loaves purchased from bakeries. Those center slices can be a couple inches wider than your average packaged breads. With this toaster, they fit! You don't need to toast half, part sticking out the top of the toaster, then flip upside down to toast the other half. It also has wide slots that can handle a thick slice of bread or a bagel. I think it's a great looking toaster. I like the looks of it sitting on my counter, but I can also pop it into a cabinet if I'm entertaining and need the extra counter space. It is not heavy. Every time I'm done using it, I carry it to my garbage can, slide out the crumb tray and shake out the crumbs. ***The surface unfortunately gets VERY hot, so I must let it cool off first. They do have a caution sticker right on it warning you. Mine is functioning perfectly. Both sides of my breads are evenly browned. I have been using a lower setting, #2. It pops up when done. If I want it darker I just push the knob down again to give it more time. You can also stop the toasting by pushing the cancel button. The toast will pop up then. I can use a darker setting, but am being cautious since it's still new. This is a great toaster, the only negative is that the surface gets hot. You would not want a young child using it.
