UPDATE 12/01/2023 : Been 1 month since I installed it. I have gained approximately 2 mpg when I drive normal and don't hot rod it. So that is a big plus! Wanted one but didn't want to pay the high price of other brands. This one was worth it. Decently priced and I have noticed a significant difference when installed on a stock 2011 Chevy Silverado 1500 with 5.3 L V8. So I wanted to wait a week to really see how I liked it. There is a noticeable difference in throttle response. This thing really woke up that stock V8. Not like I gained a ton of HP but it definitely is quicker. Can easily spin the tires now compared to not being able to before. Sounds a lot throatier too. Gives it a nice roar under full throttle. I would guess I gained 10-15 HP but that is a guess only. All I know is that I am glad I did it. I have not noticed any increase in MPG, in fact it seems to have gone down 1 mpg yet that could be because I am getting on it more now. Only time will tell as I ease up on my lead foot. Either way, I highly recommend it. Was not hard to install, only came with 3 clamps though and I needed a 4th one. Also, the plastic piece that goes inside the tube and has a notch cut out for the MAF sensor, be sure to put that in before you clamp down the boot to the tube. The boot will hold it in place so it doesn't rattle around. Overall it was a pretty easy install. I removed the stock air box and also removed the bottom tray that is under the air box. Used two of those bolts to hold the new on in place. Only took about an hour to install it. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Easy build/install if you know what your doing. Instructions are a little iffy due to pictures being super faded. But great product for price and quality is honestly as good as other top competitors I’ve seen. The install is as straight forward as any other cold air kit however this one does not include any instructions and has some specific parts so be prepared to take some time with it. The clamps that are provided work but I do not like them as they will bottom out and still feel like there's room to go. I like to feel a bit of resistance once I've hit optimal tightness, these just feel like they could slip. The heat sheild sits to high and had to be bent forward to allow for the hood to close. I double checked to make sure I had it mounted correctly and even with the stock air box tray completely removed it would not clear. All minor things for a $80 intake imo. Truck sounds great now and the throttle response does seem improved but I cleaned the TB during install so who knows. Hope this helps. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. It’s great and impressive! I should have bought this a long time ago. I had a KN intake and it did not last 2 years. The plastic cracked where the MAF sensor goes and the inlet side where you clamp the air filter was cracked too. Installing this was easy. There are no instructions for installation. If your mechanically inclined it will be easy. I also noticed my exhaust is louder and seem to just flow very nice. I did not use the heat shield that came with it cause I just used the KN heat shield and it works with it and I didn’t want to hassle of taking it off and putting a new one. It actually works great with the kit. For the price and the quick delivery. I’m a happy camper! I also paired it up with an oil catch can. I recommend them both to have. ... show more

just now opening this intake after having it on shelf for months. to my surprise, there were no instructions and no hardware to build the "cold air" box. the rest of the package ia typical.. you get what you pay for

Makes you wonder if these we’re going to be expensive quality units and then it was realized the heat box portion (which holds the entire unit up in the engine bay) is entirely too tall and you cannot close your hood flush (the right side of your hood (passenger side) will be pushed up by the top of the heat box shielding. I’ve even tried removing the rubber seal for more space, no luck, I also tried using a rubber mallet to knock it down, tried bending it all does nothing. The metal is about 1/2-1” too tall. My only thought of what could fix this, take the air box tray entirely out. You remove the stock air box and then the tray it’s attached to you remove 2 bolts to mount part of the heat box shield of this kit. Try removing the entire tray when you remove the 2 bolts, take out the other 2 then remove the OEM air box mounting plate. This may just give enough space, I’ll have to take it apart again to try this but this would be the only way (other than cutting it down) to allow the hood to close flush. Otherwise surprisingly nice quality until. They must have upgraded the clamps from the previous reviews because they’re all really nice now. Makes the engine sound much more aggressive over the stock box. No power gains that I can feel. 2011 Avalanche ... show more

Awesome upgrade for decent price and install was a jiffy no problems besides removing old OEM filter box. Other than that took about 45 minutes. Gots nice deep sound when you get on it. As far as mileage goes just depends how you drive heavy foot vs law-abiding.

2013 Silverado 1500 WT 4x4 4.8. Glad i bought this instead of the k&n this time around. Easy install. Works great. Heat shield didnt fit, so i made my own as you can see in pic. My factory one needed replacement and this worked out great. Be advised, you may have to move it around to find the correct space and angle, but to save $250 plus? Yep! ... show more
