I have not purchased a new home dehumidifier for some time, but the design of this one seems to far exceed the others that I have owned. The bucket is easy to remove and it comes out of the shorter side of the unit, different from any other one that I have had. This makes the unit look nicer and allows you to place the dehumidifier closer to the wall if need be since the vents are on one of the longer sides and the top. The unit has a large handle on the top edge and a recessed smaller hand hold on the opposite side making the unit extremely easy to move around. It also has wheels that make it easy to adjust positions. The other nice feature is how the drainage tube attaches to the unit. On other models that I have had, there is a garden hose attachment on the back where you would attach the hose...but, this always seemed to leak down the back of the unit or would only drain down the hose if I tipped the unit backwards. This unit has a covered hole that you stick in the hose into which attaches to a nipple that is inside the unit. This happens to be the same port that fills the bucket, so if the water does leak out of the hose, it should drop into the bucket below instead of onto the floor. Unfortunately, it is winter and the unit (which normally I would not run, but wanted to test) did not accumulate much water since the air is pretty dry in my basement at this time. I was unable to fill the bucket completely over the course of about 24 hours, but the product worked well and did not freeze up at any point that I could detect. It is much quieter than other units that I have owned, but it certainly is not silent. Also, to be fair, the other units I had were larger units, 40 pint and 50 pint. In the end, even though I love the design and functionality of this dehumidifier, longevity is the real test of these home dehumidifiers. In my experience, most of these units will last only a few wet seasons which can make this level of product frustrating. I am hoping that this unit has the longevity I desire and will adjust my review if this one can't deal with a few wet springs.

Space saving, evergy efficient dehumidifier. Pulls a massive amount of water out of the air every day, but the tank is on the smaller side at 1.6 gallons. It will fill up several times per day in a humid environment. Thankfully, a continuous drain option is included if you are able to use this in a location where it can be plumbed into a drain or utilize a floor drain. A clear flexible hose is included, plus an adapter to connect a standard garden hose. You can also use the garden hose adapter with a 3/4-inch Female GHT to 3/4-inch PVC adapter to utilize 3/4-inch PVC pipe for continuous drainage. This is a great way to set it up, and there are plenty of 3/4-inch PVC traps available to prevent moisture from returning to the unit from the drain. This unit does not include a pump, the continuous drain option is gravity fed only. This is the better option if your location allows for it, as the pumps in other models can fail, causing water to back up. Just keep in mind it can't drain uphill like a pump unit can. Build quality is very good, it's mostly plastic but feels strong and durable. Not cheap at all. Fan runs on several speeds, can be set to slow speed where it is extremely quiet or high speed where ti is audible but not bad. Has a continuous mode that will keep running 24/7, or you can set humidity level where it will shut off when the target humidity level is reached. Using the continuous mode with a drain hose connected is the best option for bulk moisture removal. Using a preset humidity level is probably best if using the bucket. Overall great value for the money, one of the best units available for it's size if you don't need a built in pump.

I am genuinely impressed with this dehumidifier. Living in Florida, humidity is just part of life, and even with central AC running, my main living area can still feel stuffy, especially with the dogs going in and out. This has made a noticeable difference by lowering the humidity without needing to drop the temperature of the whole house. One thing that really surprised me is how well it doubles as a fan. It moves air effectively and helps the room feel cooler overall, not just drier. I was initially concerned when I saw that it came with a hose, but that is completely optional. If you want continuous draining, you can attach it, but I prefer using the built in tank. It automatically shuts off when the bucket is full, so I do not have to worry about leaks or overflow. Its incredibly easy to use for me just need to drain the bucket here and there. It also has wheels and is not as bulky as I expected, which makes it easy to move around. I have even been rolling it into my bedroom after showers to help manage the extra moisture since my bathroom connects to the bedroom. You can set your desired humidity level, and it goes as low as 40 percent. It has been able to bring my space down from around 50 to 52 percent to closer to 40, which is exactly what I wanted without having to adjust my entire home’s temperature. I personally do not hear it running it has a very low noise level. Overall, this has been a great value and a high quality addition to my home. I would definitely recommend it as it functions extremely well.
