Be careful when buying one of these, they are not all the same ,this one was excellent in form & function, the scroll works smooth on this one & the jaws all close to a fine point. Many of these the jaws don't meet and leave a 1/8" gap in tightening down . This Wood (Lathe) Chuck works perfectly for me while making Turkey Call pots. As part of first time use learning experience I found I needed to use caution tightening the chuck to not break my Turkey Call pot when gripping my work piece from the inside.
