This is an interesting tool, and overall I think it is a very good value if you already own DeWalt batteries. That compatibility is a big part of the appeal. It gives access to a tool we do not use every day for much less money than a major-brand version, while still feeling more legitimate than a lot of off-brand battery-platform tools. The motor feels good. It is brushless, runs smoothly, and in use it came across as honest about what it is. Aiderar lists a top speed of 7200 RPM, which is lower than a lot of competing tools that claim 8000 to 10000 RPM. I actually appreciate that because it feels more believable, and in use the tool performed in line with those expectations rather than trying to impress on paper. I used it to cut through an old cast iron pole, and it handled that without feeling strained or underpowered. It is also lighter and more compact than my older brushed grinder, which made it nicer to handle. For flap-disc work, rust cleanup, and general surface prep before welding, I think it is especially good. The main downside is the ergonomics. The pistol-style grip and trigger setup just are not ideal for every type of grinding or cutting. The trigger lock is on the left side of the handle, and when using it for cutoff work, the orientation makes one-handed operation feel awkward and not especially natural. I much prefer a slide switch or a better paddle-style setup for this kind of tool. For grinding and cleanup work it is fine, but for certain cuts the layout is harder to like. The gearbox is also a little noisy, which made me wonder about the amount of play in it. So far that has not translated into any weird performance, but it is something I noticed. I also liked the included arbor wrench - it is better quality than the stamped ones I am used to - but it does not store on the tool, which is one of those small conveniences you miss once it is gone. Overall, I think this is an excellent value. You do give up some polish, convenience, and ergonomic refinement, but the actual performance is better than I expected for the price. If you already have DeWalt batteries and want a capable grinder for lighter or occasional use, this makes a lot of sense.

I own a couple of other tools from this brand, and the value proposition is the same across the board: a decent quality tool in a complete package that uses a name-brand battery you probably already own, for a price that's probably lower than renting the same thing from the local hardware store. Overall build quality is probably not as good as you'd get from a big name - particularly in cosmetic things like the handle grips - but these things aren't designed for professionals that plan on using the tool every day for years on end. These are meant for people like me: weekend DIYers who need something good enough to get them through a project. And for that purpose, this thing is GREAT. I wanted an angle grinder for some basic steel cutting, and this baby does the trick. Plenty of power for me. It's easy to swap the side grip, and almost as easy to change the blade and the guard. Speaking of which, a big advantage here is that you get dang near EVERYTHING you need: it comes with a couple of cutting blades and grinding discs, along with the appropriate tightening wrench. (Speaking of which, the text on the wrench packaging is hilarious. Bad English translations are my favorite.) As long as you've got your own batteries, you can start using this right out of the box. For the price, you really can't go wrong with this.

4-1/2" Cordless Angle Grinder Tool, Brushless Cordless Grinder For Dewalt 20V Max, With Quick-release Guard, 3-speed Control (Tool Only, NO Battery/Charger) As stated, this does not come with a battery or charger. It does work with my existing DeWalt batteries though, and looks like it will accept several other DeWalt Batteries. Mine did not include everything pictured. It did come with the handle & spindle nut tool, 2 spindle nuts, 2 Safety Guards, 2 grinding discs, and 2 sanding discs. In the picture there are 2 more discs, maybe cutoff wheels? Mine did not come with those. Other than that omission it works well for a decent price. It comes in a foam-lined cardboard box, but it would be really nice if it was in a plastic case where everything could easily be stored. You can do that with the box---for a while, but a plastic case would be much nicer

Need to grind down some rough edges on some metalwork and decided to give this a try. First impression is that it's a bit shorter than my previous grinder and a little on the heavy side. I would assume the heavyness is from the motor because this thing has some kick. I am using a 4Ah battery but it is loud and it is fast. Even twists a little in my hand. That power and speed are not only necessary but safer since there's less chance of your blade getting binded up if you have a stronger motor. Comes with a bunch of discs and 2 different sized guards. The full half guard is nice because you can use it kind of like a circ saw too. Nice little grinder.

Great tool, great quality, great compatibility with dewalt, lots of discs, tightening tool, all in there, easy to operate and powerful. Not having to deal with wires is a big plus, love cordless tools as long as they're powerful, also great value for a tool that will be use once in a while. Check the video!
