The 3M™ Littmann® Master Cardiology™ Stethoscope features tunable diaphragm technology—a 3M invention—that lets clinicians hear different frequency sounds by simply adjusting the pressure on the chestpiece. Unlike two sided models, there’s no need to turn over and reposition the chestpiece. Hold the chestpiece with light pressure to hear low frequency sounds; press a little more to hear higher frequency sounds. This time saving feature allows the healthcare provider to focus on the patient, while the non chill rim provides patient comfort.Headset tension is easily adjusted for head size and comfort by squeezing together or pulling apart the eartubes. Snap tight, soft sealing eartips conform to individual ears for an excellent acoustic seal and comfortable fit. Eartips snap firmly onto the ends of the eartubes and, for safety, require a significant effort to remove.Resilient next generation tubing retains its shape and flexibility even after folding tightly into a pocket. It provides longer stethoscope life due to improved resistance to skin oils and alcohol, and is less likely to pick up stains. Next generation tubing is not made with natural rubber latex, a benefit to sensitive medical professionals and their patients. I've had several stethoscopes throughout my time as a nurse. I currently work in a busy emergency room and this stethoscope is hands down one of the most critical tools that I own. You can hear everything. Whether it is decreased bowl sounds or heart murmurs. This thing picks it up better than any other stethoscope I've ever used and that's saying quite a bit. My go to for years was the Cardiology 3. Unfortunately I left that one at work and it mysteriously walked off, never to be seen again. So a year later I figured for my birthday I'd get a new one. After months of research and trying out some of my coworkers Master Cardiology stethoscopes I decided I'd get one that would last me the rest of my career. Enter this purchase and I've been nothing but satisfied. Seriously, if you're on the fence on what the best tool is for the job. Just bite the bullet and buy this stethoscope. In the long run it'll save you money because you know you have the best and won't ever have to replace ie unless you seriously misuse it. (How? I don't know! It's a stethoscope, use your imagination. ) Anyway, like I said, this is the best tool for the job. Though if you buy this stethoscope just make sure you get the long tube. The sound quality is amazing. Super clear and very distinguishable. Highs and lows come in great with different pressures. The gold looks awesome against my black scrubs. Only the electronic ones are better. Every nurse or provider should own one. I absolutely love it.

Fashionable and functional. Perfect for cardiac auscultation, especially when using the special procedures adaptor. I have yet to use it on pediatrics patients; however, I did subject my 4 lbs pomeranian to a full cardio/respiratory work up. Auscultating his heart sounds were comparable to listening to a heavy bass song through my Bose headphones. Amazing quality. Abdominal sounds also very clear if that's your thing. It is heavier and less pliable than my previous Mastet Classic II, but I feel the sound quality is worth the reduced maneuverability. It does not sound as perfect as the $400 electronic stethoscopes I've used in the past, but close enough, and for half the price. I did not notice any signs of counterfeit quality when purchased through Amazon. ... show more

I have been a nurse for 30 years and sorry my computer blinked out before I could finish. I have used Litttmann stethoscopes for most of my career but I decided to treat myself and upgrade to the Master Cardiology Stethoscope and I am glad I did it is beautiful I got the brass finish it came with an extra set of ear plugs extended piece and an attachment for the bell to hear sounds with smalller frame patients I work with adult patients but they to come in petite sizes so this attachment can be use on pediatric patients.But the best part is I have never auscutated sounds this CLEAR I just wish I had one soon in my career. I would give it higher than 5 but that’s all that will allow. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. The diaphragm of this expensive stethoscope fell off without warning and without trace while I was at work. Without the diaphragm, this stethoscope is completely useless. Unfortunately, this happened past the return window. I tried to buy the replacement diaphragm from Littman, but sad to say, the replacement piece does not fit either. Very disappointing indeed for a stethoscope this expensive. ... show more
