I recently installed this drop-in fire pit insert and I’m very impressed with the quality and performance. The insert feels solid and well-built, with heavy-duty steel that gives confidence it will hold up for many seasons of use. The finish looks clean and professional, and it fits perfectly inside a standard block fire pit ring without any modification. Installation was simple and straightforward. After preparing a level base and stacking the surrounding retaining wall blocks, the insert dropped right into place and immediately gave the fire pit a more finished, polished appearance. It also helps protect the outer blocks from direct heat, which should extend the life of the entire setup. One of the biggest benefits is how well the insert contains the fire. Airflow seems improved compared to an open pit, helping wood burn more evenly and efficiently. The metal ring keeps everything neat and controlled, reducing the mess that can happen when flames directly contact stone. Overall, this insert adds both durability and a clean look to the fire pit. We made a fire put with this ring. It was very flimsy, but we were able to use landscape brick to help stabilize it. The lip on the top is very small. It looks okay inside the put, but would suggest you spend the money and buy a better one.

Assembling this took 2 people for me. Its a bit finicky, but if you have better tools to put it together, id recommend using those. Just slap the pieces together, add a nut and bolt on the top and bottom holes and its ready to roll.
