  • Good soft ride. Your battery range may differ from advert.
Color: Step-Over-Black Style: With Mechanical Disc Brakes
This is a fun fast bike for whatever you're into. Maybe not offroading. It seems to be well-built and is heavy, 20 Lb.s of that being the battery. Speaking of the battery, I charged the battery to full before my first ride and over the course of a week rode 20.5 miles. This dropped the battery down to 2 bars out of 5 so I'm not believing the 60 mile range that's advertised. The seat has a generous amount of memory foam, along with the front suspension and seat post shock absorber, my rides over known rumpbusters are much smoother. The front and rear lights are nice, but not enough for city riding or use during inclement weather. The brakes are responsive and will bring you to a stop quickly. I bought this bike because of the strong winds in my area or dangerous and frankly, a bit scary to ride in. The lower height combined with a very low center of gravity help to make this bike less affected by the windy conditions. Although this version is not a step through, since the tires are only 20" it's a step trough compared to my 26" X 4.0 😉The cables are well fitted to the frame so as not to catch on anything. Cables and wires leading up to the handlebars are held together neatly with a foam like cloth fastened by a zipper. This is a good bike for me because I'm short. I can lower the seat post down to where my shoes can be flat on the ground when I'm at a stop. The horn is loud and good enough for trail and sidewalk use. I always like to ride with my lights on for saftey, even on the brightest days, so the fact that the display dims when the lights are on is not ideal. I hope there's a work around. Pretty sure the dimming is intentional though to keep your eyes from being blinded at night. I'm going to add an additional light that's bright enough to be seen in the bright daylight and to be able to see when I ride at night in heavy snowfall. The disk brakes needed no adjustments after assembly. The bike was easy to build and the fun of it was a great experience The rack being included was nice and I like that this bike has a 350 Lb. payload meaning I could ride this and still carry 200 Lb.s making it the ultimate bugout vehicle. The distance you can travel is usually based on a 170 Lb. rider though so your mileage may vary. The lower price of this compared to similar e-bikes is substantial. The $200 you'll have to pay for shipping (Prime doesn't cover it) was calculated into my final cost so the bike cost me $800 total. Acceleration is nice, but not great. After my first ride, I felt no need to adjust the programing, it's mostly calibrated for average use. The handlebar grips spread the weight of shock over a lot more hand surface making for a more comfortable ride especially for those with hand injuries or arthritis. ... show more

  • Great Bang for the Buck E-Bike!
Color: Step-Thru-Grey Style: With Mechanical Disc Brakes
I've outfitted this bike with a few aftermarket accessories and I've ridden it a couple hundred miles over the last few weeks. Overall, this is a great bike that I highly recommend! PROS: You won't find another bike with a battery this big in this price range. The bike folds, and folding latch is solid when you don't want the bike to fold. Brake/Tail light and headlight are included. It has a pretty loud horn. You can customize 3, 5, 7, or 9 pedal assistance levels and the motor power for such. You can customize electronic top speed limit for legal reasons if you need to. The battery locks to the bike to prevent easy theft. The bike is mostly assembled when you get it. Watch the videos Wildeway puts on YouTube, it will make assembly easier than just winging it. The baskets are robust and solidly mounted. The front basket mounts to the frame, rather than the handlebars such as a number of bikes are setup to do. This goes a long way towards not messing with the bike's handling. I weigh 235 pounds and carry about 50 pounds of gear when I ride this thing. The capacity of the bike is 330 pounds, and it has no trouble moving me and my gear along and cruising at 25 MPH while doing it. The battery has a long life. Many factors influence an e-bike's range; I have no complaints so far. Wildeway has a warehouse in California, so you can actually get parts for this bike in the US should you need to. Their customer service is excellent so far. Seat is pretty comfortable. CONS (Not so much cons, mainly minor things I would note when shopping around): This bike comes with mechanical disc brakes. Some e-bikes have hydraulic brakes. This isn't a dealbreaker for me since the bike stops more than good enough, but some may want this upgrade. All competitors seem to charge a premium for their products that have a hydraulic setup. In my State, the e-bike classification law is a little vague and seems to indicate a throttle can't go above 20 MPH (since that's the definition of Class 2 and Class 3 doesn't specify a throttle limit of its own). The top speed settings on this bike are for overall, regardless of whether throttle or pedaling is being used. Many e-bike companies limit their throttles to 20 MPH from the factory because of this. Since this bike doesn't do that, I simply added a few cable/zip ties in the equation to partially block the throttle from being pushed all the way, and my throttle stays below 20 MPH while allowing pedal assistance to go higher speeds without any problem. SUMMARY: I highly recommend Wildeway and their e-bikes! For the price, this product and company are hard to beat! ... show more

  • Great bike
Color: Step-Thru-Black Style: With Mechanical Disc Brakes
This is my second Wildeway bike folding bike. They are great bikes. It comes well packaged and quickly. I use this as primary transport to work in Chicago area. I have also used it on multi day bike trips. I am 6 ft 145#. I can pedal/cruise control on power level 1 for about 75-90+ miles 15+mph. I can get 50-60 miles driving at 20+ mph. 40- ish miles at power level 5 28mph. I can fit someone small on the back. Lots of gear or a dog trailer. I drive it aggressively sometimes and it holds up. There are some plastic pieces that have broken off like chain protector. A bolt coming loose. Pretty small stuff that's easy to deal with but handles some abuse. The bike has been submerged, lcd screen and pas system was funky for a day but worked itself out. Battery is heavy but as a regular commuter I wouldn't go below 30 Ah for a battery setup. Tires and rims held up after I rode them flat for a few miles on gravel. Cold effects the battery and speed but I can get 30+ miles at 22 mph in below freezing without wind chill. Longer with warmers on battery and insulation. Doesn't drive on snow and sand as good as fatter tire bikes but handles gravel well at low psi. Suspension is just the front and for this price I wouldn't expect rear suspension. Best deal for a long distance folding fat/suspension bike. I can get it on the Amtrak, smart car, boat. Gears are for low speed top 15 mph. I would buy his bike a third time. The only way it could be better would be with full suspension and bigger battery but then it would be to big to fold and put into trunk ... show more
