I acquired this inverter for use with my Sierra and have been generally pleased with its performance. It provides enough power to run the devices I personally need, and the LCD display is useful for monitoring battery voltage and system status. Installation was straightforward, and the unit feels reasonably solid (heavy) for the price. Under normal use, it seems to handle loads well and the cooling fans do a good job keeping temperatures under control without being unreasonably loud, but expected. For the cost it offers a lot of wattage compared to many competing products in similar price ranges. My main concern is long-term reliability. While it has worked well so far, there aren't many reviews available yet, and another reviewer here has taken it apart and reported potential for problems or failures...I suspect this person may be somewhat of an engineer and has a unique perspective on such devices that the rest of us don't have. I don't take devices apart to critique them, but this person's statements do carry some valuable insight. Definitely worthy of note as has been mentioned before is the unit is a *modified sine wave* inverter rather than a *pure sine wave* model, which may not be ideal for sensitive electronics or certain appliances. Overall, I'd recommend it for general truck, RV, camping, or backup-power use if you're looking for a budget-friendly inverter with plenty of power. Just keep in mind that the limited review history means durability over several years is still largely unknown, but we all probably understand that with newer or overseas-made products. It does offer "12-month professional support with 24/7 customer service" though, so that's something. All that said, so far so good!

There are a lot of reviewers glazing this inverter and I suspect they don't understand the range of qualities and features that one might be more discerning of: Idle power consumption is 2.5a which translates to 32w on average. This is close to 3x fold what should be acceptable. Modified sine-wave is not premium and the price should reflect this, which it doesn't. The power button is affixed to the step-down USB PCB and the weight of all of it rests on the slim bezel of the power switch connector. Neither the power switch or USB can sit flush because of tall capacitor at the bottom of the PCB. Pushing hard on either of them rips both out. See pictures: The right AC port is linked to the left port through a small PCB. The left AC outlet is the only outlet wired directly. The wire appears to be 12-10awg which is good for 20-30amps and but may get toasty if running 3000w, particularly from the right outlet through the PCB. It is rather lightweight and starts up fast.

I picked this up to start putting together a small off-grid setup for my workspace, and so far it’s been doing what I need it to. Hooking it up to a 12V battery was pretty straightforward, and the included cables made it easy to get going. It has a solid feel to it and doesn’t come across as cheap. The fan kicks on when needed, and I like having the display so I can keep an eye on voltage and what’s going on while it’s running. I’ve used it to run smaller tools and electronics without any issues. The two outlets and USB port are handy so you’re not constantly swapping things out. One thing to keep in mind is this is a modified sine wave inverter, so it’s fine for most everyday stuff, but you’ll want to double check compatibility for anything sensitive. Overall, it’s been a reliable option for backup or off-grid power and a good starting point if you’re putting together a simple setup.
