I've had about 10 fires in this so far since I got it in the end of July after an easy assembly. So far nothing has warped or broken even with some pretty hot fires, paint is holding up as well though I have it covered when not in use so it's not exposed to the elements. I ended up making a small grate out of some rebar welded together to lift the logs off the bottom a little, it's not the thickest steel but it seems to do the job. This not only works great as a decent looking cheaper fire pit but with the added adjustable grill grate you can make yourself an awesome burger, steak, or whatever you want. My only issues with this is I wish the cooking grate support was a little bit taller and that the screw to tighten it was on the outside of the pit so it's easier to add or remove it during a fire or just have the mount for it on the outside as well so the cover fits with the support in. The poker is short and flimsy as well, basically just good for swinging the grate around or to add/remove the screen cover.

I love the size of this fire pit. I've never been a fan of elevated fire bowls, but the depth and width of this platform still allows you to build a full size camp-style fire! For the price, it is of pretty solid build quality; sturdy, but light enough to move around in your back yard. My complaint though is that, 2 days after I placed it outside and used it for the first time, I started to notice rust! I hadn't used it for a few weeks and then today decided to clean it out and assess how bad it was. That attached pictures were taken today, only 32 days exposed to the elements! I get that its made of steel which rusts, but I guess I assumed it would have some kind of powdered coating or paint to protect it for more than a couple days after the first use. I'm still giving 4 stars because I really do like it, but I don't like that I have to spend hours of my time and money to clean, sand, and paint it myself with a high-temperature paint. If you don't intended to spend the same time and additional expense, and you don't plan on keeping your firepit out of the rain, then you might want to avoid this model.

Good quality overall and easy to assemble.Nice deep bowl sturdy legs. My only complaint is the poker or lid removal tool is too short and kind of cheesy.

I finally took this out of my four seasons room and put it together. It was in the box a little over four months but out of direct sunlight and other weather elements. The Ditropan firepit was rusted. The rust resembled the bubbles on the bubble wrap. It was shipped and the produced had bubble wrap around the actual pit but nothing on top of it or inside of it. Not only was it rusted - the lid was dented in multiple places so it doesn't fit right or actually cover anything. Besides that, it seems sturdy and I love the grill aspect. All of the parts were included.

I bought this to take camping where they don't allow ground fires and love it. this my second one after 5 or more years having the first one. i am sure it would have lasted longer if I had used a cover but after 5 years I am not going to complain. the only thing I don't like is the fact it doesn't come with a cover but if I want one bad enough I can buy one. also love that it has a grill plate. I cook all my meals on it when camping and i will even use it at home from time to time to cook a meal.
