this is the best ladder for max height with smallest folded area. For example, I have 10 ft walls in my house. So, in the pantry I need to be able to reach the top steps, but do not want to take a lot of vertical space to store it. I'm not tall and just can't reach everything in my kitchen cabinets. I have a small (11") one-hand folding step-stool within easy reach right in the kitchen, it gives me most access but I still can't reach the top shelves with it. So I started keeping a three-step folding step ladder in the space between the cabinet and the refrigerator. I can reach the high shelves, so it works... but... it's big and a bit cumbersome to get in and out when needed. I found this two-step stool and, despite it being a little pricier than other options, I decided to get it and couldn't be happier. It is substantial, there is nothing flimsy about this step stool. I feel very secure getting on and off and can reach everything. It fits great in the space between the counter and refrigerator where the three-step folding ladder was, and is much easier to get in and out. This stool does take two hands to unfold as it needs some pressure (the hinge is not "loose" so it doesn't just "flop open"). I have arthritis pain in my hands but opening and closing the stool doesn't cause me any discomfort at all. If the folded stool leaned against my counter or fridge when I put it away that would have been fine with me, but it stands up all by itself in the gap between my counter and fridge without touching either. This feature doesn't matter to me but I noticed some were asking about whether it could do this, so thought I'd mention it.

I got this to reach my hard to reach areas in my kitchen, it looks really nice and matches well, but unfortunately it doesn’t feel very sturdy and was wobbly when I stepped on even though I weigh only 100 lbs. The color is also really off, I expected a much lighter oak color, but it looks more like walnut.

This stool allows me at 5'2" to reach the top shelf of my cabinets. It stands as tall as my counter top. It is lightweight because of the aluminum, however it I love the wood look. I am finding it hard to store out of the way because of it's size. I definitely need a stool to unfold this high, but it does not fit in any any of the crevasses I have. Opening and folding are easy. The feet are plastic which can cause it to slide very easily which is not ideal while you are on it. I will purchase something to fit over the feet to prevent this. Even when it slides, it does not mark up my vinyl floor or my hard wood floors.

This is an awesome stool. It’s safe. It’s sturdy. It’s light. And it is incredibly compact. I have a very small kitchen with very high cabinets. I have tried two other times unsuccessfully to find the perfect stool that I could fit in the kitchen so it would be available anytime I needed it. I wasn’t dissatisfied with the other stools I bought. I kept them both and put them to use in other places but this one is the bomb. It has two steps and it is short enough that it fits below the counter drawers and it is so thin (about 1.7 inches) when it’s folded up, I can put it by the refrigerator so it’s completely out of view. I can also stand on its own 2 feet. It does not have to have a wall to lean against to stay upright when you are storing it. It’s definitely the most stable stool I have ever had. And the most convenient. I highly recommend it.

I’ve been looking for a small lightweight set ladder, and the size, open top step design, weight was perfect. Unfortunately, the hinge at the top connecting the front and back rails wasn’t strong enough, lightweight plastic, and broke on first use. I believe the manufacturer could make a small improvement improving the sturdiness of the hinge and it would be an excellent smal. lightweight step ladder.
