Every time I would open up our 2-step ladder and have to climb up to the top step, I'd think to myself that there had to be a better and safer way. Well, duh. How about a folding step ladder with a third step?! This is so much more secure feeling. I doubt I'll ever actually use the top step, but it provides a sense of security as there's something to grab onto as I'm ascending (and descending). It folds down and fits into the space where I kept the other shorter ladder just fine. This is a very nice, stable step ladder. All there is to assemble is the tool/paint tray, which is just 2 screws. It unfolds and folds very easy and is very light, I am 6'5" tall and 66 years old. I lose my balance easily and really needed this type of ladder. I really like the tool tray and the fact that the top handle is taller with a good rubber handle to hold on to. It’s super sturdy and sits level on the ground. It’s actually lighter than advertised, which is good. It folds and opens easily but stays open when needed. It takes enough effort to open that it won’t fall open when you’re carrying it but it’s still easy to open and close. The ladder was easy to put together (the tray and top handle). The ladder is light enough for me to carry. It's a little stiff opening and closing, but that is probably a good thing. I bought the 4 step because I need the third step to reach stuff, and you shouldn't step on the top step... so a 3 step was not a good idea. ... show more
