It does fold flat and it does feel pretty sturdy for me (170 lbs) although is did make squeaking noises. It didn’t look or feel sturdy enough for my husband (300 lbs) so we had him step up carefully and the bottom step did bend slightly (see picture) so now it is only for me. The steps feel flimsy and although the cross bars feel strong they are attached by just small welds. See pictures. Bought it specifically because it said up to 500 lbs in the listing. I have had difficulty taking stuffs from top shelves of closets and cabinets. While I did not want a huge ladder which would occupy a lot of space and be heavy, I found this option eventually. This ladder made my life easy. The height is very proper for most of the home uses like taking or putting stuffs in highest shelf of closet and top of cabinets. The good feature about it is its light weight while the steadiness and sturdiness is not sacrificed. I feel totally safe staying at the third step and never feel I might fall while standing on it. After the use, it easily gets folded. This makes it fitting everywhere when not needed. I recommend it to those who are looking for home uses. ... show more

I’m a little over 200lbs and a step ladder should hold me. This ones doesn’t hold me, but the steps have bent and are made with thinnest metal you’ll ever find.

Sometimes i had a difficulty taking stuffs from top shelves of kitchen cabinets or my closets. So after lot of research i found this. Height is great definitely what i am looked for. Easy to fold , sturdy and lightweight. Very useful

Even though I weigh less than the rated maximum, the treads bent the second time I used the ladder. The size and weight of the ladder is perfect for storage, but a little impractical for use. I wish I bought a different model.

This ladder is flimsy. It’s made of plastic and thin metal. I weight 140 lbs and it feels like it can barely support my weight. When I step on the ladder, the steps would bent slightly. I attach a close up photo of the steps that are made of plastic. It feels it’s on the verge of snapping. I agree with the other reviews that this is not a good ladder.
