  • Great Growth
I've had success with each seed pack in the order. The tall grass grows very quickly, showing signs of growth in 2-3 days. The the tiny leaf grass grows in about4-5 and I think it took a week or so for the dwarf hair grass to grow. The tall hair grass grows like a weed, this tank has been growing for a about a week now and these are the results. Each seed type is in here and the dwarf hair grass has yet to grow. I've successfully grown it in another bowl tho and it looks great. I have yet to see if they are aquatic plants as I haven't added water yet so we shall see. I simply planted each pack indifferent types of sand, sprayed them with water twice a day, at least once with miracle grow solution, and had a pretty powerful UV light on them for 10 ish hours a day. Pretty happy with the results, but still have to see if they survive under water ... show more

  • Great beginner starter seeds!
Ordered these despite the mixed reviews. I started my seeds on paper towels in small snack size ziplock bags and set them under my tank light. Turned the light on in the morning 7am and off in the evening 7pm. Yes I understand tanks should only get 8hrs of light but keep in mind these set on top of the tank blocks a ton of light so it didn't create any excessive alge overgrowth. I have a small rimless 2 gallon tank with 1 betta. Tip: YouTube is your friend, even if it's not the exact plant you are growing. Quickest growing: tall grass seeds Semi quick growing: small leaf grass Slow/having trouble growing: medium grass The tall grass sprouts in 4 days. Small leaf grass 7-10 days Short grass 2 weeks I currently only have the leaf grass and the tall grass planted as the short grass didn't sprout. During the aquascaping process I decided to smear small leaf grass over the wood log in the tank to see if the seeds will cultivate under water. (I have not tried this with long or medium grass) Anyway so far I'm honestly not upset with the progress of the seeds themselves for the price you pay. I'd rather grow my own for pennies on the 1$ than pay 10$ a plant from the store. If you look below, you will see the newly planted grass in the back. Along with the log covered in semi grown small leaf grass and some of the small leaf grass seeds. šŸ˜€ I'm not giving up on growing the medium grass, I just need to change the approach. Also I do advise getting a small spray bottle and some aquarium plant fertilizer. It seemed to help them grow at a super fast rate. Same with the plants that I stick in there, roots from nodes in 4 days. (Side note yes I know my Betty's fins are short. He had fin rott when I fell ill and couldn't clean the tank. He is growing it back slowly but surely) Update***** I added 3 more photos to my review. I am still keeping my review as a 5 star. Here is why: I've germinated these seeds as you can see in my tank and outside in an greenhouse tank. Both sprayed with fertilizer. While the tank that has only moisture and fertilizer in it the growth is still a bit slower than the ones in my actual tank. See photo 1 then 2. It's a 4 day difference of when the seeds went in to now. I have way more seed growth under water (even though the company highly suggests its more unsuccessful that way.) I have to disagree and my tanks support the opposite. Now I have not tried to grow the medium grass under water just yet that's a next aquascape day. I only have 2 gallons to work with so I have to keep that in mind as well. Anyway I love the seeds and I am still quite impressed with my experimenting. I 100% know fertilizer helps them a TON with greenhousing them! Faster more successful results. I may be doing this all wrong but hey so far my tank isn't brown and my fish are still alive! ... show more

  • Honesty is the best policy…please don’t waste your money like I did!
Shipping was fast. Seeds were slow to start. Took around 2 weeks before the tall grass started sprouting and 3 days later the tiny leaf grass sprouted. But the dwarf hair grass never sprouted(1 tiny seed started and then stopped after 3 days). All were given same conditions, temp and mists of water. These pictures are from today. At the 3.5 week mark. I did both planted seeds in the tank before the fish in my large tank and small containers and then transplanting in the other smaller 2 tanks. I was really looking forward to the dwarf hair grass. So just know, it doesn’t grow. But the other two have done great. UPDATE: I planted all the grown grasses from the small containers in my tanks (4 different ones, all planted tanks) and all the tall grasses have died, including the ones seeded before the water went in the tanks, and the dwarf grass still hasn’t grown. UPDATE #2: Everything died. In all my tanks. Tried the leftover seeds in planted aquarium substrate and filling tank as well as growing in containers and misting. Thinking maybe I did something wrong. But They all died. Again. Such a waste of time and money. ... show more

  • Nice Grass!
Update: 9/5. Ultimately changing review to three out of five stars here’s why: The tall grass is no good. It died off doesn’t appear to thrive in an aquarium. The small ā€œgrassā€ is also starting to thin and it’s kind of a pain and clogs up the filter all the time. The medium grass, however, seems to be doing well and has really started growing. It stays in the substrate just fine. Added a new photo too. Update: 7/29 the tall grass all got super thin and was dying so I pulled it out. The medium grass is starting to grow up a little though! (New photo added, and yes it’s time for a water change.) 4 stars now haha I read mixed reviews on these but I seem to be having decent luck. I started the seeds right on the wet sand, misted a few times a day, kept the light on and waited. The big grass seed germinated within 24-36 hours, little brown ball seeds took about a week to start and I didn’t try the dwarf grass. The little ball seeds were just barely germinated when I added water. Tank has been full of water for about a week now and all still seems to be well. (5/17/24) Will update of anything changes šŸ‘ ... show more
