I wanted a reading floor lamp for "my" chair in the family room. I bought, from other retailers, 2 other lamps but they were NOT what I wanted. This one, the "GyroVu Dimmable LED Pharmacy Floor Lamp" from Amazon, is EXACTLY what I wanted! It is dimmable, the pole and the head are adjustable. It also uses a "regular" bulb, not a dimmer bulb or an LED bulb. Except for the higher costs of an LED or dimmer bulb, there doesn't seem to be any difference in the light. The switch kept falling out (gravity) and a repairman told me to put a dot of super-glue to hold it in place (that "trick" worked!). Buy it: it is exactly what it says it is: a great reading lamp that also looks good whether it's on or off! ... show more

The entire thing comes in a small box. A tall lamp in a small box? I know right... So the main stem or tube, is in three sections. Easy to screw together and you hardly notice the small lines where the tubes come together. Pulling the electrical cord through the middle gave me a small hang up near the end (My wife had to show me. My ego is still mostly intact). Anyway, the lamb shade is in the box as well. Yes, you are correct. You have to assemble the lamp shade. The fabric is rolled up and it attaches to a frame with small clips and then Velcros at the end. Personally, I didn't care for the very round lamp shade and bought a different one. ... show more

I thought the arm that extends was as long as it looks in advertisement. Maybe it was listed in details but I didn't review. Lamp is very tall and lights the area I needed more light.

This lamp is poorly made and only minimally meets the requirements for a reliable reading lamp. The swing arms are far too short to provide useful adjustment. The shade attachment fails even with a small bump to the shade. Overall a very shoddy product.

Overall, everything looks and works satisfactory. However, once the arm with the lamp is extended, the whole lamp will lean and is wobbly. If you have some rambunctious children (or adults), the lamp may end up hitting the floor.

Broke after 3 months use. Won’t turn on. Recommend buying a different product. Editing review: very impressed with the customer service. They promptly offered to refund the product and shared my feedback with the manufacturer.
