This foundation is great. It’s light and has a nice boosted “natural” look. My skin is dry and this gives me nice hydration without the need of moisturizer. The foundation is sticky/tacky after first applying, and noticed the scent that others described, but both went away after about an hour. When I received the foundation, oils were already oozing from the jar. Not a good sign. Once I opened it, I could see that the ingredients had begun to separate, which was disappointing. It has a very sticky or tacky consistency, with a super-light coverage. So, if you want to achieve a balanced finish, it would be difficult with this product. It sat on my skin like a thick oil-slick. I have pretty dry skin, but I think this would clog pores and cause issues even in the most balanced skin types. There is a distinct odor from the foundation, but it wasn't offensive at all. That was probably one of the few plus points for me, because I could tell that the oils used were still fresh. Having said that, considering the oils that are used in the formulation, I think it would have been better to have them in dark glass packaging, rather than the clear glass that will allow sunlight to penetrate and affect shelf-life. Although this is targeted for mature skin, I don't think it suits those of us who are aging. Such a heavy, sticky formulation seems to work against our specific needs. I didn't find the coverage was sufficient and it didn't seem like it was buildable, either. If anything, the shiny effect seemed to accentuate my fine lines, rather than diffusing them. I love Jones Road products generally. I had high hopes for this whipped foundation, but unfortunately, it feels to heavy on my skin and settles in my pores, doing the opposite of what is intended. I don't have large pores but this makes my cheeks look like I do. It's also sticky which I do not care for in foundation. Coverage is good and the scent is nice but this is not for me. ... show more

I am very pale due to anemia and I am 76. At the risk of looking like "Baby Jane" I have been investigating a natural looking makeup that doesn't make me look MADE UP. Jones Road has fabulous products. I purchased the What the Foundation in Fair and it is a perfect match. So moisturizing and when it is applied thinly it looks so natural and evens out my complexion. As others have said yes it is sticky...yes it feel tacky when you touch it. Who cares...at my age I don't. It's not like I'm having a makeout session. Who really touches my face but me. To add color the secret for me is to apply Miracle Balm on top of the foundation. I started with a lighter shade Dusty Rose. In fact I am going to add a bolder color of Miracle Balm to add an even brighter look. It is worth the price to me. I would NOT recommend this product if you have oily skin. It is very rich and it a heavy duty moisturizer. If you are an older person with dryer skin than normal... You will love it. I love the scent. I love everything about it. My husband said to me today, "It looks like you got some sun today." That is the best compliment that he could have given me! I will add pictures at a later date. ... show more

I rarely ever bother to write a review, but because of the bad comments I feel compelled to give my two cents. I have 65 year old dry skin and have everything from Chanel, Dior and Yves St. Laurent to L'oreal and Maybelline in my drawer...I swear I must have fifteen different foundations, but I was intrigued by this so I thought I'd try it. The pros: it goes on very easily with fingers, brush or sponge and really melts into the skin. The color is perfect (light), no noticeable smell and despite what some say, is NOT oily; or any "oiler" than other non matte foundations. It left my skin with a pretty glow and really stayed all day without pilling. The cons: This is a very sheer foundation; it may look thick and full coverage but it's not, AND (at least in my case) it doesn't layer well, and I will remember to add a little extra when I use it next. That's the reason it received four stars, but perhaps I just need to play with it more. Overall though, it's exactly what I wanted in a sheer to medium coverage foundation, and it's (currently) my favorite! ... show more

I was hopeful for this as I have the Miracle Balm from Jones, use it daily & love it. It smelled terrible, potentially as if it had gone bad and there were small granules in it. I really wanted to love this product because I've used Bobbi Brown items for years. But this one is a total miss. I read the reviews (positive and not so positive) prior to purchasing. The negative reviews were accurate. There is a definite chemical smell to the product that lasts for hours after application, and it is also gritty. As if tiny lumps of the foundation hadn't been mixed thoroughly. This product is also very greasy and doesn't sink into the skin. On the positive side...the online quiz matched my color perfectly, and the foundation is definitely buildable. If Jones Road reformulated the product to make the foundation smoother, less greasy, and with a better scent to it I would definitely repurchase this product. ... show more
