Fresh out of the baggie it was shipped in, the fob LED wouldn't light up when any button was pressed. I thought maybe the battery was dead, so I changed it out with a fresh battery and that didn't change anything. Tried to program the key using two functional keys and it absolutely did nothing.

    • Finally a replacement key fob that works
This was my third attempt at trying to get a replacement remote for my wife's car and the first one that actually works. I took it to a locksmith and he was able to cut the key and program the remote in just a few minutes for a lot less than the dealership. The cost of this key fob, cutting the key, and programming the remote was less than just the key fob at the dealership and they wanted even more to cut the key and program the remote. I got this to be a spare fob for my 2018 Ford Ecosport. It works fine and, unless examined in very close detail, can't be told from the OEM original. The backup key needs to be cut at a locksmith or hardware store but other functions are ready to go. Functions and layout seem identical and it even takes the same replacement battery as the OEM version. Given the high cost of the OEM version, this seems a good alternative. ... show more
