I used it over 11 ct Aida cloth and the floss is as good as the pricey singles. The are A SMIDGE fuzzier but not noticeable on the piece; just on the card it’s on. Great variety and lots of extras. The box is a bit flimsy but once you lock the sides together it’s very sturdy. Great value!

First let me say that my package was very well wrapped with bubble wrap and no breakage. It would seem the shipper has listened to their customers and tried to improve packaging. Great set for beginners - Tons of colors especially in shades of blue, fall colors, and neutrals. Many greens, handful of purples and pinks. Only one white, one true red, one black. Quality of thread at first glance looks good. Maybe just a bit less glossy than DMC. The colors are sorted randomly so I resorted by color. The thread spools are made to store efficiently in the space provided. It is a small somewhat flexible case of which it’s possible the handles that snap each level together might break off at some point but it snaps together firmly. It has flexible dividers inside which are a little fussy but not bad. The tools provided are all adequate - and not having to purchase them separately is big cost savings. There are three packages of needles which look prett useful - needles aren’t cheap so I liked this. The thread clippers I got are a little out of whack blade wise but I’m betting it was just a one off. They still cut fine. I think this is definitely worth the money for beginners - lots of pretty thread and useful tools and a case.

I originally bought this item as a gift, but I wasn't able to gift it. So, after some time, I decided to open it up myself and take a look. I was pleasantly surprised to find quite a nice selection of colors in the thread, with the thread itself being a nice, soft quality. There is a sufficient amount of each spool to give a good go at a project, and each spool is numbered so that finding and re-ordering that specific color is easy! The tools that come are beginner quality, but still work well for simple jobs. All in all, this is a pleasant little kit!

I received this kit today. Box is definitely flimsy but did arrive intact. Wish it was of higher quality. Flosses were not arranged either by color grouping or numerically- I had to do that myself. I received qty 2 of #310, 3 whites (2 labeled white and then one labeled blanc) plus B5200 which according to dmc colors should be Snow White. I also received two very different colors carded as 3843. I am a bit disappointed that there were doubles, but there is a decent variety. Also, the washable “pens” are actually the insides of pens without the casing. I did not realize that when I originally ordered, and it might make it harder to work with them. These are my initial thoughts and I may adjust the review once I’ve had a chance to work with the kit a bit.
