This fit exactly as I had expected and was impressed with the overall quality. It is aluminum, but it is thick enough that it maintains its structure when picked up and based on other comments, I read in other manufactures, I went ahead and put a piece of scrap lplywood in the bottom to span the trailer hitch. Loaded it up and locked it up. Will give it a run tomorrow but for seeing no problems. Well packaged and arrived with no damage. ... show more

This box is sturdy enough, however the locking mechanism is useless, no matter how it’s adjusted. It pops open with the slightest bump, and as it’s facing forward on your trailer moving down the road, and the hold open strut opens the lid, it will rip the lid off. Fixed the issue with a “locking Hasp”, securely riveted in place. Purchased separately here. ... show more

The shipping box was not damaged, but the toolbox has several scratches and one small dent. I did not send it back because it is only going to get more scratches and dents from using it. But it would have been nice if I received it damaged free.
