*UPDATE 08/27/2005* The issue with the drum pad has self-resolved. Most likely, there was some manufacturing debris that has worked it's way out. I've updated my rating to 4/5. I would rate this 5/5 if the issue hadn't happened. I've been using a M-Vave SMK25 for a while for music creation. I primarily use the drum pads to program midi drums. I was looking forward to using the SMK25-II as it has 16 instead of 8 drum pads. This mini keyboard plugs straight into my PC via USB-C. It is rechargeable and can also connect via Bluetooth. I don't use any music gear via Bluetooth as I don't like the latency, but the option is there. The user manual doesn't really explain it, but you can download "midi commander" from M-Vave's website to further customize the keyboard's function. After plugging the keyboard in and setting a couple of options via the software, I was immediately able to use the SMK25-II in Reaper. That was when I noticed the problem. There's a drum pad on the keyboard I received that randomly triggers, and sometimes will not untrigger. See my picture as it's triggered with no input. All other keys and functions seem to work except for this one pad. I could use the software to unassign this pad and just not use that one, but not working correctly out of the box is a bad sign. I will reach out to support and see if they can resolve the issue. For now, however, I cannot recommend this keyboard. I will update this review when/if I receive a resolution from M-Vave.

I always wanted a battery powered wireless controller that I can travel with easily and pairs up to iPad. The bluetooth, usb c function allows you to connect it to your computer or phone/tablet. I use it mostly with GarageBand and it was easy to discover as a MIDI device. When connected to the computer, it will act as any other MIDI device and can be easily routed into your DAW. It also has a way to use the footswitch jack as MIDI out. I don't completely understand how that works because, again, the manual isn't very helpful. Every pad, knob, and button can be reconfigured in any way you want, on any midi channel you want. You can then store these configurations in 8 presets on the device, or any number more on your computer. In summary, this device is an exceptional value for its price and even rivals more expensive options in certain aspects. However, it’s important to note that it may not be capable of performing all the functions that a more expensive controller offers. Since it’s a budget-friendly option, it’s unlikely to receive software or firmware updates in the future, and the company’s longevity is uncertain. While M-VAVE has demonstrated resilience, it’s worth mentioning that many other companies have not survived for as long. Let's hope it improves and the website is more friendly in the near future

25 full size, standard-weighted keys with 4 settings to adjust velocity curve. A pitch-bend and a modulation strip. 16 velocity sensitive pads with aftertouch, bluetooth connectivity option or USB C to USB C which works great on my phone, tablet, and laptop. 2000mAh battery or USB C for power/recharging. There are 8- 360 degree assignable encoders. ¼ port to plug in a sustain pedal. Pads were a little laggy to begin with, but the latency issues were fixed by adjusting the I/O buffer in my DAW (FLStudio) The keys are nicely weighted and provide a decent rebound. Very quick and easy set up. Plugged into my tablet: Galaxy Tab 9+, opened my DAW: FL Studio assigned some sounds to the pads and was making music. While the keys are velocity-sensitive, they do not have aftertouch like the pads. This isn't a dealbreaker and most sub one hundred dollar keyboard controllers won't have it. It would have been nice but not absolutely necessary. For the price this is a very good basic/beginner's keyboard midi controller. It is very intuitive and easy to use and set up, has a lot of nice features, works easily with your DAW of choice, and does everything I'd ask from it. The [standard] weighted keys are responsive and springy with good feedback, the touch pads are easy to assign and use, and the assignable encoders simplify tweaking settings within your DAW. I'd recommend to anyone who sees use in the things mentioned- keep in mind this is a MIDI contoller- not a standalone keyboard capable of making and playing sounds.

The M-Vave 25-key USB MIDI Keyboard is perfect for musicians. As I am a novice at using the keyboard, I managed to figure out the simple How-to, such as powering on, recharging, and after that, I began to tap the keys, and I began to understand small bits of it. For those already skilled at using the wireless keyboard, the M-Vave will elevate your game, creating professional arrangements and including a 16 MPC drum beat. It is fully functional and portable at the same time. A compact MIDI keyboard controller that can accompany you around the world. The M-Vave 25-key USB MIDI Keyboard will enhance the studio sound experience.
