Excellent piece of gear that checks all the boxes for my needs
Style: Scarlett 18i20
Configuration: 4th Gen
This product review is for the Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 4th generation USB audio interface sold and shipped by Amazon. The product arrived on time and in good condition as expected. The internet is chock full of in-depth reviews, appraisals and head-to-head challenges against other top audio manufacturers regarding all of the features that Focusrite has packed in to this versatile 1U rackmount device. From the quiet, responsive, clear preamps to the more than adequate converters and signal routing capabilities, I would agree with the general consensus that the 18i20 is a quality unit and more than up to the tasks it was designed for. While I haven’t had this unit long enough to test every function, I can say that the initial hardware setup was a breeze, as was the software configuration on an older PC running Windows 11. Focusrite has clearly spent significant amounts of time and resources designing a pleasant OOB experience. The included production software package is on par with other interface manufacturers at this price point and probably adequate for most to get started with, at least at an entry level. Of note, I particularly enjoyed the Relab LX480 Essentials reverb plugin. I expect that this unit will last many years, as Focusrite did not cut any corners in overall build quality. Everything feels solid. Based on my first Focusrite product; a Scarlett 2i2 first gen purchased in 2013, which is still fully functional, I would hope to get at least 10 years out of this one. Bottom line: I would recommend this to anyone looking to update their setup from a limited number of ins/outs to 8 onboard preamps, ADAT expandability and many, many outputs for less than $1000. The Focusrite Scarlet 18i20 falls well within the price to features ratio I was looking for.

Reliable product
Style: Scarlett 18i20

Focusrite control 2 is confusing compared to the first version. Trying to loop back audio for OBS to stream internal sound still required an audio driver. The main reason I bought this product. Still a good upgrade from 2nd gen

An upgrade from my Saffire Pro 40.
Style: Scarlett 18i20
Configuration: 4th Gen
Upgraded from my Saffire Pro 40. I find the sound quality to be improved, and the software interface is much better. The auto gain and channel pairing is nice. So far has been quite stable. This is the Gen 4 version.

Extraordinary Gear!
Style: Scarlett 18i20
Configuration: 4th Gen
I am very impressed with this unit. I have only had it for a week or so, but so far I can say it's exactly what I've been needing to get back into recording. I was an original user of the Aardvark audio interface that was way ahead of it's time 20 years ago, and I never fully recovered from it being put out of support. Finding this unit and all it's features and easy connection to something like an iPhone is incredible. Eventually I will get a Mac to use with it, but this thing is awesome.

Great product
Style: Scarlett 18i20
Configuration: 4th Gen
I upgraded from the Saffire Pro 40 and so far after a couple months i have not experienced any issues with it. It does take some time to get used to the redesigned mixer controlls as it is completely different as the Pro 40, but other then that it is a great product. Reasonably easy to use for someone who used similar products, for someone who is new to recording and equipment, it may take a little longer to figure everything out. It came with a bunch of plug in's and Ableton DAW but you can use almost any other DAW, i use Reaper and MixPad and they work fine.
