  • Excellent piece of gear that checks all the boxes for my needs Excellent piece of gear that checks all the boxes for my needs
Style: Scarlett 18i20 Configuration: 4th Gen
This product review is for the Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 4th generation USB audio interface sold and shipped by Amazon. The product arrived on time and in good condition as expected. The internet is chock full of in-depth reviews, appraisals and head-to-head challenges against other top audio manufacturers regarding all of the features that Focusrite has packed in to this versatile 1U rackmount device. From the quiet, responsive, clear preamps to the more than adequate converters and signal routing capabilities, I would agree with the general consensus that the 18i20 is a quality unit and more than up to the tasks it was designed for. While I haven’t had this unit long enough to test every function, I can say that the initial hardware setup was a breeze, as was the software configuration on an older PC running Windows 11. Focusrite has clearly spent significant amounts of time and resources designing a pleasant OOB experience. The included production software package is on par with other interface manufacturers at this price point and probably adequate for most to get started with, at least at an entry level. Of note, I particularly enjoyed the Relab LX480 Essentials reverb plugin. I expect that this unit will last many years, as Focusrite did not cut any corners in overall build quality. Everything feels solid. Based on my first Focusrite product; a Scarlett 2i2 first gen purchased in 2013, which is still fully functional, I would hope to get at least 10 years out of this one. Bottom line: I would recommend this to anyone looking to update their setup from a limited number of ins/outs to 8 onboard preamps, ADAT expandability and many, many outputs for less than $1000. The Focusrite Scarlet 18i20 falls well within the price to features ratio I was looking for. ... show more

  • Excellent quality multi-input sound card
Style: Scarlett 16i16 Configuration: 4th Gen
I bought this to use as a multi-input sound card for Windows 10. It works very nicely and the sound quality is great. An important note is that you may need to enable the extra inputs through the desktop app. After installation, Windows only showed two inputs. After some research I found there is a way by right-clicking in the tray icon and enabling more sources. Otherwise it really works nicely, is built very well, and allows for multitrack recording without much hassle. ... show more

  • Great product
Style: Scarlett 18i20 Configuration: 4th Gen
I upgraded from the Saffire Pro 40 and so far after a couple months i have not experienced any issues with it. It does take some time to get used to the redesigned mixer controlls as it is completely different as the Pro 40, but other then that it is a great product. Reasonably easy to use for someone who used similar products, for someone who is new to recording and equipment, it may take a little longer to figure everything out. It came with a bunch of plug in's and Ableton DAW but you can use almost any other DAW, i use Reaper and MixPad and they work fine. ... show more

  • Better than the Apollo?
Style: Scarlett 16i16 Configuration: 4th Gen
I love this freaking thing dude, has overall given many more paths to explore creatively just by simply having more inputs and outs, instantly noticed a difference in productivity, the upgraded appearance is a plus as well, coming from a gen 3 2i2, I was looking for something to improve functionality and allow me to expand my studio, this has done just that, I would recommend this over an Apollo any day, UAD software can be buggy when dealing with multiple systems, focusrite control is very intuitive and easy to use across the board, not to mention artists vocals sound crisp and clear, smooth harmonic drivers sound beautiful when mixed and gain staged correctly. Overall I’d say this product is worth every single penny and more ... show more

  • Excellent for number of inputs given the price
Style: Scarlett 16i16 Configuration: 4th Gen
Easy to set up and works as advertised and as low noise as anything else I've owned. Has a lot of nice features I didn't know that I wanted: individual inputs and be isolated and recorded from, sound after being run through a DAW can be routed back and played from different headphone jacks. Software works well on MacOS 15. I would have preferred more hardware control options for controlling the inputs in the back ... show more

  • Poor customer service/Product defective
Style: Scarlett 16i16 Configuration: 4th Gen
I purchased this product on sale from Amazon for $339.99. The on and off switch did not work. I contacted Focusrite support but they did not contact me back. Amazon did not offer a replacement but only a return. I returned it and was going to buy a replacement but the price is now $399.99. I spoke with a customer service rep at Amazon and she confirmed only a refund, not an exchange. BAIT AND SWITCH. ... show more
