So far so good. I barely know what I'm doing and was hesitant to hook this thing up, and just sat on it for a few weeks. My e-scooter is limited to about 12 MPH (GPS speedo says so). When the throttle screen says "15 mph", it cuts off acceleration, and that's annoying. Anyway, I pulled everything out of the battery box, took my time. I anticipated needing to switch the colors around, and wanted that process to be easy and safe. It happened to me before on another scooter. That other controller didn't have the self-learning capability. First concern was connecting the 5 hall wires. I don't have any Molex connectors and ended up 3D printing one. Spent the idle time learning about this stuff.. Ready to go... Matched all wire colors. Connected the 3 fat phase wires, the hall wires, and then connected the battery to the controller. Connect the throttle to that "Display" connector. Press the throttle ON button for 3 seconds. Display lights up. We're ready to start. Now connect the two self-learning wires. (Wheel MUST be off the ground! My scooter was upside down.) The wheel began to turn at low speed (soft-start, for which I'm grateful). It was smooth and quiet, but running backwards. Let it go for 10 seconds. Disconnect the learning wires. I touch the throttle and it's running backwards. Re-connect the learning wires. Now the wheel is rolling forwards. Disconnect the learning wires and we're done. The wheel's 6th white wire showed a steady 5 volts. That says it's just a temperature sensor, so I left it disconnected. A white "speed control" wire's voltage will change with wheel speed. I haven't ridden it yet. The manufacturer says this hub motor is rated 400W steady, and maximum is 650W or so. I gotta hook up the ammeter, learn how to set the throttle for proper power output. I don't want to burn my motor. I gather from these reviews, chances are one or more of the published controller specs are incorrect, so I'll take my sweet time....

I had originally ordered the one without throttle, as i had one already, and just couldn't get it to work. Returned. Before i trashed the bike i decided to give the throttle one a try. Had to run thru several cycles of the self learn process, but it works now. $60 saved a bike. Wish they would include pigtails so you don't have to cut plugs off. fyi, the default settings had the 1st power level too slow and the 2nd to high. it turns out the 'max speed' settings isnt to adjust mph, rather its to adjust % output, so changing this setting from 100 to 80 made my 2nd gear perfect for me.

Avoid this bundle! Randomly powers off, shops confirmed defective unit

I cannot recommend this controller kit. The main issue is that it randomly powers off with absolutely no warning while riding. I carefully checked all the wiring against the manual to ensure everything was correctly placed. When that didn't fix the problem, I took it to several different local ebike shops to get a professional diagnosis. Every single shop came back with the same conclusion: either the LCD display or the controller itself is completely defective. Because they come together in a bundle, it is incredibly hard to pinpoint exactly which component is failing.Save yourself the headache and the extra diagnostic fees at the bike shop. I would not buy this kit again.

Fixed Jetson Bolt, but JB doesn't provide speed sensor or lights.

Used this to fix a Jetson Bolt with a cracked daughter-board. Lost headlight capability, since Jetson wants full pack power to the front headlight, and 4V to the rear, and I couldn't figure out how to get this unit to do that. So I bought a front-and-rear light set from ali* for <$2. The learning process is simple- just temporarily short a certain wire and throttle a few secs, and it learns the phases. The bike revvs right up and my little friend actually looped it.

Trouble reading 36V battery

I bought this and a brand new 36V battery for my super 73 Z1. After a flawless install the bike ran great and has a lot of torque and tops out around 25 mph. However, the display does not show the 36 V that I actually have on the battery. It shows 52-55 V despite it being a 36 V battery. I tested the battery with a multimeter and was reading 38 V. Because of this, it shows a full battery even when the battery dies. I have no way of knowing what my battery level is on the display. That’s a huge problem I ordered a replacement controller and it has the same issue, and I even swapped out the displays. I emailed the support team. I will see if they get back to me. I did a little search with artificial intelligence and it thinks that it could be an error in the firmware calculations of the chip when using a 36- volt battery. The AI thinks I should try a 48- volt battery. Since it display is stuck reading 55. However, I can’t return my battery as I’ve already opened it and used it and spliced the wires. Update: I spoke with the support team via email and they wanted me to send video. I sent them the pictures in my review here as proof of the problem and they never got back to me. The picture show the voltage of the battery with a multimeter. They show the P03 display setting set to 36 volts. And in the last photo it shows that I’m reading 51 volts on the display

Csbst seems to be a great company. This is 3rd of this brand. Have 2 of these and their 350w on my e scooter. This is very well made, comes with great throttleand display works great. Just wish display was just a little bit larger
