I used these when I suspected that a small mouse was living between the roof and header/lining of my SUV. The “guest” could not be seen but could definitely be heard skittering about. Smacking the ceiling would result in the skittering changing direction and, subsequently, stopping - until the next time I drove. Peppermint oil and mouse traps had no effect. I placed 8 of these repellent balls inside the length and both sides of my car. The included mesh bags used to contain each ball could be tied and that enabled me to place four of the balls next to the ceiling. Within one day of placing the repellent balls, there was no indication of a mouse present. There have been no indication of any mice or insects in my car for over a month. The scent of the repellent balls is rather strong and the scent is not pleasant. It isn’t an offensive scent but, definitely, doesn’t even approach aroma therapy. They have been effective for repelling mice. That effectiveness makes tolerating the scent easy.

I don't write very many reviews, but I felt they had to for this. First off, this is not peppermint at all, these are mothballs. I put these in the eaves in the basement of my cabin and they're so strong they burn your eyes, and the smell is horribly like mothballs, just mothball. 2. I've had these for over 2 weeks now and they just do not appear to work at all as you can tell by the mouse I just caught in the live trap, he is the fourth mouse I've caught in the last 3 days. I had high hopes for them but they just do not appear to work at all unfortunately. I feel bad leaving this review but I didn't really have a choice.

I started hearing scratching/skittering noises at dusk and dawn in my attic about a month ago. Found out it was nest-building season for squirrels. Well, they've got all outdoors to run around and build nests in. I went to work researching non-lethal and economical ways to ward them off. Mint and citrus came up time after time as top turn-offs for squirrels. I got tired of lobbing essential oil-soaked rags up there, so I supplemented with THESE beauties. Yep, they DO have a vague mothball scent, right out of the bag, but there's mint in there. And who CARES, if they do the job? Product comes with very little info/instruction, but similar products call for one pellet every six feet. I've done two deployments, now. Have heard 'the thing' up there briefly a time or two, but it's clear it doesn't like the way the attic smells. (Down below, the scent is undetectable to me.) So it's a deterrent, and not a barrier or a poison, so it may take a while to work. I say start lobbing these things IMMEDIATELY after you hear any activity and refresh every two or three weeks. The claim is that the pellets maintain potency longer, but I'm not sure about that. Manufacturer needs to provide more information and useful tips.

Strong oder with a hint of mint. I been using the same 3 moth balls since I bought this pack a month ago. No more signs of critters in my engine and no new nest. If you already have heavy activity in your engine bay, I'd buy rodent tape for extra deterrence for them not to chew wires. I'd give this a 5 star if the bags they came with weren't so bad. Majority of em are missing strings to hang or tighten. But regardless the product itself is great quality. I'd definitely buy this again tho worth every penny still. I'll change my review once I test them in my back yard.

Excellent for keeping mice out of office. Had several mice and put these order work office with mouse trap. Caught 1 mouse in trap first night, and never seen a trace of anymore. The smell is a little weird, but I don'y have mice!!!!!!

I bought this specifically because it stated " This natural pest repellent is friendly to human and cute pets like dogs and cats." When I got the product, the label/product instructions included the warning "CAUTION:...Keep out of reach of children and pets". They should lead with that in their advertising. It really angered me. I have two small dogs and I am very careful about products I use around them. Worse yet, when I opened the product box, the bags smelled like moth balls...naphthalene or para- dichlorobenzene ??? Not peppermint or lemons or..... GRADE F....this product failed. Fraudulent advertising in my opinion. if they lied about the safety and scent, how well do you think it works? I am skeptical.
