These things have a VERY STRONG MOTH BALL SMELL. SMELLS TOXIC. The packaging says "non-toxic," but the packaging also said it smells like peppermint, and that's not true. It smells like a chemical spill. It isn't a returnable item, either, so I wasn't able to get my money back for it.

    • Finally, the mice are gone.
First of all, these do not smell, like peppermint, they smell like mothballs to me. But they do work. I have had mice in my RV every winter when I store it and tried all kinds of poison and sprays that never got rid of them. I put these Balls out when the weather was getting cold, and the mice were gone in three days and they have not been back! If you do not like the smell of mothballs, then you can try other things that never have work for me. I even put them in my house And the mice are gone. They really do work. I even put them in my old pick up truck that they seem to find as an home and they left that also so if you can stand the smell of mothballs, at least that’s what they smell like to me, you will NOT have another mouse problem , now I have tried regular mouth balls, but they never worked, these do, don’t be afraid to buy these! ... show more

They smelled like peppermint in the box,but once out of the box about a week, they smell like moth balls. Not sure the scent will ever go away!
