The cordless drill driver is compact in size and lightweight compared to my old tools. I think a smaller and lighter battery helped reduce the weight. However, the tool still felt powerful enough with the 20v battery. The driver has usual speed and torque settings, and it is easy to use. When charging the battery, it took me a few minutes to find the port to connect the cable. The user guide did not have any instructions on charging and the port was located in an unusual location. There isn't any kind of LED indicator on the battery itself so there is no way to know how much charge is left. I like the set includes many drill bits and screw bits with accessories, but there is no container to keep them organized. In addition, it would have been nice if there were 2 battery packs instead of just one, but at this price point, one battery pack makes sense.

I got this drill set as a housewarming gift for a good friend of mine. As I have more experience with tools, she allowed me to test it out for this review. Overall, I was quite impressed; it has all the features of my much more expensive Makita, including two gears, variable speed trigger, adjustable torque, a headlamp lamp, and a hand tightened chuck. All the features worked well when I tested them. While it's slightly smaller than a typical drill, I didn't notice any difference in power, and the body of the drill feels sturdily made. That said, there were a few things I didn't like as much about it. I found the forward/reverse switch is a little hard to operate with a single hand. When tightening the hand chuck, it felt too easy to turn the whole rotor rather than tightening the chuck. ( I didn't have any issues with bit slippage, so I guess it works fine; it just feels a bit strange). Those are all minor problems. The main concern I have is that this comes with a single, moderate capacity battery, which is liable to run out during longer jobs. It's also a no-name battery, so it's unclear where you could purchase a spare if you wanted one. For occasional around-the-home projects it's perfectly fine, but if you're embarking on a larger project it's something you should consider. Still, overall I was pretty impressed - it's definitely one of the higher quality pink tools I've seen, and I'm happy to recommend it.

My wife likes to be able to do repairs and crafts, and has always insisted having her own tools, especially if she can find smaller ones that fit her hands. This one fits her requirements very well, and has the attraction of being pink! When she saw that, she just had to have it. And since it's lighter and smaller than average, while retaining power, it's a near perfect power tool for her. The kit comes with the drill, a battery and charger, and a number of drill and screwdriver bits. One piece I particularly like ( and may have to borrow from time to time) is the flexible extension bit holder, something I've never used but see a number of uses for it. It's a reasonably priced set with most of what you'd need to get started. One thing that they could have added is a more complete drill bit set. This one came with six (6) wood bits and three (3) metal, including one of the tiniest bits I've ever seen. I'll need to get her a bigger set. But it does come with a plethora of screwdriver bits, and a thick cardboard box with foam cutouts to store everything, something that doesn't usually come with drill kits like this. It's not intended for heavy industrial use, but will be fine for most of us.

It was nice to see this kit has just about any accessory you could ever need for basic, everyday use. Some of the pieces were not in their slots when I opened it, but I think I found where everything goes. The only thing that didn’t seem to have a place was the little row of small screwdriver bits. The kit has a battery and charger…the description says it charges in an hour; mine took about two hours to full charge, which is not bad at all. The light on the charger turns from red to green when the battery fully charged. This might have been user error, but the drill bit I tested didn’t stay in the drill when I drilled into wood. I might not have tightened the chuck correctly. However, on my other, different brand drill, I could tell when the chuck was locked into place. I will just use this drill to screw screws (rather than drill holes) until I get used to the parts. The drill isn’t too heavy, but doesn’t feel cheap. The LED light shines brightly, which is great for using in tight, dark spaces. Speaking of tight spaces, the flexible drill bit extension is a valuable accessory to have.
