Update: finally got it to set up with my ipad. I wanted it for a TiVo mini, but I needed to be able to use the outlet to plug in a power strip to plug in the tv and TiVo. This thing hogs the outlet. I decided to try it for a ring camera instead. The repeater I was using was old and cheap, about what this is at 75% off. I put this in it’s place and my signal, per the camera app, went from ok to lousy. I don’t understand how this gets 5 star reviews 🙄 No way this is worth 100 bucks. Weaker signal than a regular priced 25 buck repeater… I can’t get this to work with my xfinity gateway 😕. I have issues with the design as well. It’s not possible to plug anything else into the wall outlet. I got this to use the port to connect a device that doesn’t use wifi. It needs electricity too! It also weighs almost nothing. This item is defective trash. Just to make sure I wasn’t insane- I connected it directly to router- this thing slowed down my internet TEN TIMES LIKE 1999 speed. Both connected and as the extender- my WiFi was lightning fast on one bar then connect to this piece of trash with full bars - much better connection- and the internet is dead slow. This is awful. I followed the broken English instructions and none of my devices will link. It says it is connected, but when I try synch my phones they won’t connect. My laptop can’t find the network. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled twice and nothing. Guess it’s going back. Wast of money.

I’m not the most tecky guy but the set up was pretty simple. I needed to get a better signal for a Ring Spotlight Cam. I had a RSSI-73 without it and no signal with it.

Not worth the money, I got less mbps than being on the WiFi. Bought a different product that does the same thing but name brand and got way better speeds, 200 mbps compared to 12 mbps with this cheap WiFi extender. I guess you get what you pay for.

Very weak repeating signal. Was placed within 15’ of the router, which transmits at 475Mbps, would not repeat above 5Mbps.
