I have to plant all of my garden plants in 15 gallon pots buried in the ground because of gophers. That means the plants can dry out quickly on hot summer days. I have used sprinklers in the past, but this wastes water (a bad thing in California's perpetual drought) and gets the plants wet, which can cause rot. I had one older drip system which I laboriously installed, only to find I didn't have enough for all of the garden. Ordered this as it seemed like a good choice. I was so right! Instead of struggling to get the hose onto the fittings, these slide on easily and then have a "barbed lock" that screws down on the fitting. It makes them easy to remove, too. The emitters themselves are adjustable, which made it easy to make sure each plant was getting enough water, all the way to the end of the line. I'm on a slope, so this was extra important. Also, some plants just don't like as much water as others, like my greedy tomatoes. Also, the bright red emitter makes it easier to find amongst the thick foliage of my happy garden plants. They have lasted perfectly for weeks, and don't seem to have problems with our hard well water. I will definitely be ordering more of these next year as I expand my garden. ... show more

    • Nice Starter Set.

If you're new to irrigation systems this is a nice kit for a small garden. You can probably connect multiple sets together for a larger garden, but that may take a bit more trial and error to make sure that you're getting enough water at the end of your runs. This is pretty straightforward to set up, but I'd recommend mapping out a plan so that you can utilize the kit most effectively. It will save you time in the long run. I also label my pieces, since I have to disassemble the whole thing in the fall and set it all up again in the spring. Since the footprint of my garden doesn't vary that much anymore, that makes it easier to reassemble. I use a thermal printer to make the labels because they hold up well enough over the summer even if they get wet and in the fall I make new labels if any are looking too shabby. Maybe that's overkill, but it makes a job I generally find tedious much easier. If you live in a climate where you can leave your irrigation set up out all year, you're lucky! This is a little easier to use than the last irrigation kit I had due to its novel connectors and I like that the emitters are adjustable. It's been a big help in keeping my garden alive this summer since we've been in a drought. I have a lot of perennials that I don't want to lose and this is tons easier than dragging a garden hose around in the sweltering heat. Once you get it all set up, it works well with a timer so you can even set up a watering schedule and not even have to go outside. It doesn't get easier than that. ... show more

Where I live I have high water pressure. This means my irrigation system for the garden often pushes out traditional barbed fitting type drip irrigation fittings, These are much more secure. There is the barb, but you can screw over the barb and it gives extra strength. I have yet to have any of the pieces from this kit fail. The included piping if nice and flexible/easy to use. I am using a watering timer, and a hose form that to my irrigation point before using the included splitter, and everything is working great. Even the brass distributer uses a screw fitting, this is great and easy to use/modify. Highly recommend especially for beginner gardeners who may want to change and play with different setups. ... show more

Drip irrigation doesn't seem to vary much, so unless the parts felt especially cheap or poorly made, they're pretty interchangeable. And that's a good thing, because you don't need to worry about getting locked into one manufacturer when you inevitably want to extend & expand the system. This kit has everything you need to get started, and the quality feels like it should hold up well. Lots of connectors, drips heads, and I especially appreciate the 60' of tubing, since you always seem to need more of that than you realize. I like the sampling this kit affords me to water my potted plants. But I need a 3/4” supply hose to reach the location of my plants. It was not that difficult to install just had to make a plan before I started. This is very important to make things easier.

This worked out great for us. I had water spraying everywhere from the top so we didn't yield enough crop before. But this keeps the water low so everything grows better. Now i will go get some more for next year. We have a bigger garden than this 60 footer can handle.

This is my first experience with a drip irrigation system. This set has all the basic parts to get started. I like the adjustable emitter/nozzle because it allows different watering patterns according to my needs. I didn't hook the unit directly to my garden spigot. Instead, I got a short garden hose and attached it to that. It fits my situation better. Anyway, now that it's all installed, I don't have to worry about forgetting to water my plants. ... show more
