Great food saver. I've noticed that there are no freezer burns on my food sealed. The machine does a good job of vacuum the air out. Easy to use and compact to store in drawer. This thing works! I've been hesitant ever buying one of these things because I never really thought they'd be that good. I've been trying to be better at saving money buying certain things in bulk and figured why not give this thing a try and see if it helps me out. I'm glad I did. I bought this one sale with a few rolls of bag film so that I could make my own size bags as needed. It has been a blast to use, and so far seem to do a fantastic job at what it is meant to do - SEAL the bags. I've packaged all kinds of meat (steak, burger, fish, chicken, turkey and pork). Not one issue with any of them. I've also packaged some things on a more temporary basis like vegetables just to see if it helped me extend their life - and it has. My freezer is now well stocked with proteins, and my fridge has a drawer full of fresh veggies that I indulge on when they are on sale and now can actually use before they go bad. Now, for the bad things about this unit - which I assume will be similar to ANY piece of equipment meant to do this same thing. 1) Make sure you dry out the inner part of the bag after you fill it where the seal is going to be. Even the slightest bit of moisture will prevent a good quality seal. Just do it, even if you don't think you need to. 2) The bag cutter works, but it's not the best in the world. Make sure you line it up straight, hold it down tight, and slowly cut across. No quick actions here, it's not a paper cutter! Be careful, and it works well. 3) Give it a rest period on large jobs. It does get hot and if you're filling 10 bags quickly it becomes hotter than I would like it to. Just give it a minute to cool down and I'm sure it will last a long time. I have never had it overheat, or stop working, I just noticed that it was warmer to the touch than I liked after abusing it with a counter full of steaks. 4) Clean it! It is a vacuum after all, and there is a possibility it sucks out some juice as it goes. I've only noticed a drop in the tray with all the meat I've done, but it was chicken juice and I wouldn't want that staying in there uncleaned. There is a small concaved chamber behind the sealer - just check it and make sure it's clean. You'll be happy you spent the 1.5 seconds to do so. 5) Not necessary, but I do with it came with a bag, or a case of some kind. Just to minimize any clutter. Definitely not a deal breaker, but just an idea for an upgraded model maybe :) All in all, I love it and wish I would have gotten one a lot earlier. ... show more

I bought this vac sealer to replace my basic Food Saver machine (which finally gasped its last breath after 25+ years of loyal service). I wanted another basic, no frills machine to fill the void, and this new one fits the bill very well. It's compact and light, and the cord conveniently plugs into the machine rather than my having to wrap the cord around it. It has more than adequate suction and seals bags very well. I have successfully used several brands of bags. My one criticism of this machine is that it has a dry food/moist food selection option, but he seal is not good in the moist setting and the machine does not automatically shut off in that setting. But for my uses, that is a minor thing that I can work around. So, for around $40 this machine has made me happy. And what a GREAT way to save on food if one is inclined to buy in bulk or quantity and spend a little time getting it ready to freeze. Most vac sealed foods last in the freezer for months in my experience. ... show more

I've wanted a vacuum sealer for years. This one was not only a great price, but so easy to use. Love that I don't have to sit there holding it while it works. You click it and can walk away. Bags are sturdy and easy to write on.

I buy large bags of items and meat from wholesale and have to double and triple wrap to freeze .. Tried bags of fries to see how works and I am in love LOL.. Did exactly what I expected.. Vacuumed seals tight for single meals.. True just started using, but if this how it works I LOVE it.. was simple and easy to use and will keep frozen foods fresher.. 3 stras for the sealer - 5 stars for customer service here's the story original one was working fine - super fast vacuum and seal - then stopped auto turning off after sealing contacted customer support - sent vids and the sent replacement np second working great them i accidently hit moist on the food setting and bam - wouldnt shut off auto both systems vaccuumed and sealed but wouldn't auto shut off - switched back to dry and boom - working fine for the heck of it i brought out the original and sure enuff was set on moist changed to dry and worked fine is a great vac/sealer unit -- dry is all auto but on both of mine - the original and the replacement - if you switch to moist setting it will not auto shut off -- it does vac and seal - you just have to manually hit the stop button ... show more
