  • LG Laptop is Still Going Strong. I Highly Recommend Their Brand
Style: 32GB RAM | 4TB SSD
I can't believe that I haven't reviewed this LG laptop. It is great! I can't remember how many years I have had this, but I have not had any trouble whatsoever with it. Battery life is excellent. I always keep it fully charged. It probably holds a charge for 6-hours, which is good for me. It fully reaches 98% presently, which is a full charge. This is not a touch screen. This is for home personal use only and I couldn't be happier. My previous laptop was a SONY, but LG will be my choice again in the future. ... show more

  • Great laptop...No Touch screen
Style: 32GB RAM | 4TB SSD
The battery life is not as long as expected but is still 5 plus hours. Great feel and very lightweight. I've been a computer tech for 20 years both for salary and self-employed. This is one of the best laptops for the money I've every purchased. Strange to be made by LG but have Gram on the cover. Make joke it is "Grampa's" laptop. Interest and only time will tell how well the cooling works as it has no CPU fan. No fan at all. It does get rather warm in your lap but no problem on the table. Dead quiet. Charging is done with it's supplied charger through a USB C port. Thought I could charge it with my wall plug USB A charge ports but after 4 hrs. it had not charged at all. Supplied charger works fine and will just use it. It does get rather warm but not hot. Unit wants to sleep when the lid is closed. I prefer it shut off but haven't found any way in Windows 11 to make this happen as it did in other laptops with Windows 10. Firmware and software update engine works fine for firmware updates. Laptop comes with a 1T Solid State Hard disk (SSD). This is better than most of it's competition. If LG is trying to compete in the laptop market they are doing great with this laptop. It cost less than half what an Apple Macbook Pro costs and has a 16" screen to boot. Has an Intel I-7 processor so it has plenty of computing power. It does NOT have a touch screen. I did not want one because I don't like finger smugges on my screen. Recommend buying a case to haul it around with. I bought the "egiant 15.6 Inch Laptop Sleeve". It fits perfectly and has two pockets on the front for a mouse and stuff. The other I carry the charger. Big enough to protect the edges of the laptop. ... show more

  • I absolutely, positively could not get a Bluetooth mouse to work properly.
Style: 32GB RAM | 4TB SSD
Unfortunately, I had to return this otherwise very good notebook computer. I actually have the previous year's model -- this "new" one had a few things that made me want to go for it. I certainly like the aesthetics quite a bit better than the old one, and it has a few rather minor performance improvements. However, from the beginning, I utterly could not get a Bluetooth mouse to work without jerking and hesitating. The best way I could describe it was something along the lines of "every four or five seconds, the Bluetooth connection to the mouse would pause for a second or two." This happened with a number of mice that I have used flawlessly with a number of other notebook computers, including my "previous year's model" of this computer. In fact, I tried FIVE (5) different mice, and that never made any difference. So, I scoured the Internet looking for solutions to a problem like this, and nothing worked, whatsoever. I actually went out and bought a new mouse from a brand I didn't have on hand, and that didn't help, either. I even managed to install a previous Bluetooth driver version -- the one that was working fine on my "previous year's model" of this computer, and that didn't help. Needless to say, during all of this I was removing Bluetooth mouse devices and installing others, so there was plenty of opportunity to "try installing your mouse again." And so on. I eventually wound up spending hours digging through the innards of the Windows installation -- looking at processes that were running, looking for rogue programs that were running, looking for services that were using up big amounts of resources every few seconds, and so on. I sure couldn't find anything that explained any of this. Perhaps the best example I could describe is "playing Solitaire," which is a good investigative tool to use if you're having mouse problems. One very typical issue this problem would cause would be when you'd move the mouse, the cursor would just sit there -- and then a second or two later, THEN it would move. The funniest thing in Solitaire would happen when I would click on the pile of cards to get a new one -- and very often, I could click on that pile and wait -- and then a second or two later, the card would finally flip over. Nothing I ever did made any of that any better. So, I just can't spend this kind of money on a computer, only to be frustrated with it every minute I use a mouse with it. So, I returned it. Otherwise, I think the LG Gram 17 notebook series is just absolutely incredible -- they are powerful enough, they have plenty of memory and "disk" space, they have wonderful screens, and you can truly carry around an absolutely excellent 17-inch screen that weighs about the same as any typical 13-inch notebook computer. I recommend them highly to anyone who wants a big screen, but doesn't want to carry a massive, heavy computer around with them. "Hopefully, my problem was a sample problem." I certainly bought this right after this generation first came out -- I'm going to wait a few months, and then I might try my luck again. But after spending about a week's worth of hours just trying to get an infernal Bluetooth mouse to work, I just can't live with that. ... show more
