I recommend it to those who have a loud household because you can mute it without trouble and the sound quality is extremely impressive for its price. You are able to adjust the microphone, its volume, and the echo to your liking. You can also plug in your headphones for a private and quiet sound. The purchase price was $20. -- very quiet background (basically no background noise, not sure if it is really that quiet or due to DSP); -- Clean sound and the reverb/echo function works well. Probably good for singing karaoke (plug in the headphone, play a youtube karaoke video, and sing along..... the computer audio will play through the mic's headphone jack if set up as such) the more technical stuff: -- build quality seems ok, PCBA soldering quality seems ok, component quality seems ok. Processor chip has no marking other than the alignment dot so don't know what it is, therefore can not confirm whether it is 16bit or 24bit (could not find this info on the packaging material nor in the included documents) -- the circuit has a SOIC-8 opamp running off single 5V, can probably be upgraded ( LEM49720 etc). -- the electret capsule is 16mm; the holder can be trimmed to hold a 25mm capsule (CM012 etc) Overall, good value for the price paid. ... show more

This is my first microphone purchase as I prepare to get serious about podcasting. It arrived very well packaged and on time. It was fairly easy to assemble just looking at the photo but I would have liked the pamphlet to contain the assembly instructions as well; it only focused on the plug and play bit. The head of the microphone is well supported by the tripod once the microphone is at a slight angle but I’ll have to see how it holds up over time. I was surprised to see the sponge cover for the head of the microphone included and I decided to use it right away. I recorded samples of me talking, as well as singing. I tested playback output via a headset plugged in to the microphone directly as well as through my stereo speakers connected to my laptop. Both are inexpensive devices but the output was clear and crisp. I had been considering another usb microphone that was close in price to this one, but the clincher for me was that unlike the other one, this one also has a mute button right on the microphone. Mute works nicely as well. I am happy that this was my first purchase without having to spend a lot. ... show more

    • A great portable and affordable microphone for podcasting
This microphone is perfect for me. I travel every week and do podcasts from my hotel rooms with this mic and it's great on the tripod or handheld. It's lightweight, works great, and I would highly recommend getting it if you're in the same boat as me. I plug it right into my laptop and it makes zoom calls, YouTube videos, and everything else like that clearer and more professional. Also I love that I can plug my headphones right into it. This is really solid mic for gaming and podcasts. The feature that caught my eyes is the in-line sound control. The sound quality is good.     • My first condenser mic
Like it very much. Needed it for work. My setup was I had my laptop docked and used a Gen1 Echo for my speakers and the laptop mic. This caused feedback and echos on Slack calls and Zoom. I figured I needed a quality mic. Checked Amazon and this looked perfect for my needs. It had volume Control an echo dial (don’t need it but it was extra) and a headphone jack which I haven’t used yet also a mic stand which I also like very much. My coworkers say that my voice comes through clear. And I wasn’t getting anymore feedback and echoes. On top of that it was cheaper than most mics on Amazon that don’t have the extras that I just mentioned. Now thinking of getting another mic for my other PCs that do solely gaming. This btw is my very first condenser mic. It’s a world of difference from just having a stock mic. ... show more
