It is perfect for DIY welding projects around the house—I highly recommend it. However, there is one thing you need to be careful about: if you turn the amperage gauge up past 125, the power may trip. Haven't used this a lot yet, but my first day of using it to practice welds and do some minor welding has been great. As others have mentioned, the pos. and neg. cables are just OK. The leather/suede gloves were better than expected, but too small for me (I wear a LG-XL, these are likely MED-LG; so I had to buy ones that fit). Chipping hammer's fine, it'll probably do me just fine until I get better at welding anyway. The wire brush is useless. The sticks/rods are all XG J422, which are apparently a decent overall rod to use, plus they're basically free so perfect to practice welding with. Manual is rather useless, be careful as there is some very bad advice in it, don't use it for setting up the welder, or for welding, look online and/or watch videos for advice. The price is crazy inexpensive IMHO, as I had been looking at much more expensive set ups until I saw this class of stick welders. It's small and lightweight, and even if it only lasts a year I'd be satisfied. I definitely recommend watching some "welding 101" YT videos and take all recommended safety precautions! (Don't weld while wearing shorts or flip-flops! Ask me how I know!)

5 stars only because the price but actually this is pretty good. The "200 Amp" claim.. I mean come on but these thing does lay beads and the included kit is actually probably worth a good chunk of the price alone. It is pretty easy to strike and maintain an arc. Pay attention to duty cycle! My breaker would trip before this little machine would give up though. You aren't going to make a living welding with this but you can stick some steel together for sure. I showed it to a professional welder and he said "No way! I gotta get one" so there is that. I have used machines well over 100X more expensive than this and for stick, honestly, this can do some work for what it is.

Ok, this little thing surprised the heck out of me. Wasn't expecting much out of a "mini" portable stick welder. But this packs some power. It is fairly sturdy for its size. The cables could be a bit longer, but not hrible for its portability. Dialed it into 130a and Bam, fixed a weld that had broken on a piece of tubed steel. the gloves are nice and it comes with enough sticks to get you going. I wouldn't count on this as an everyday unit, but about once a year I need a weld, and this looks like it will do the trick!!

OMG!!!! This is the BEST $55 I have ever spent. Super easy setup. Worked like a charm right out of the box. I am NOT a welder, but this made me feel like one. Repaired a rolling cart I use like a mule for hauling my music gear. Easy easy easy to use and laid down a very respectable bead on some square tubing. I would pay double this and STILL call it a GREAT bargain. HIGHLY recommend this for quick, easy, and solid repairs. Paired with an inexpensive helmet, and project done in under 20 minutes from opening the Amazon delivery bag.

This is a really nice product and I would buy one again and I would give it to someone as a gift that wants to start welding and wants to become a beginner and I'd say money will spend it comes with almost everything except for the face shield in the apron the overall it's a pretty good product and I would buy again it's lightweight it's easy to use it's very powerful and you can use it for like farm work
