  • Hot water - FAST! Many potential uses PLUS - Peace of Mind.
Tested in a large bucket and heated perfectly within 30 minutes! Intend to be using it in the coming months to: - to warm small pool - to add hot water to paddling pool in summer - peace of mind if water heater goes - to use at the cabin in the forest, which has well water and a tank, but no water heater as yet - when camping (once we figure out a solar set up that will provide necessary power) Comes with a digital thermometer which is a bonus! Seems like an item every home would benefit from having. ... show more

  • Listing is misleading.....
While deciding if I should order this or not I studied the listing. In the listing it says; "This UL-recognized immersion portable hot tub heater is equipped with a 304 stainless steel shield that prevents direct contact between the internal heating element and people or animals, making it safer to use and preventing burns." Now that made me believe that you could put the heater and yourself in the same water at the same time because this being equipped with the shield that it was safe to come in contact with water and you. But then it says; "Please note: people and animal can't be in the water while the heater is working." Making it sound like you can't have contact with the water while the heater is in the water! So which is it? According to the instructions that came with this heater it tells you again that it's safe but that you shouldn't come in contact with the water while the heater is heating that water! I was hoping that it was the first statement that is true but of course now I know that I shouldn't risk it regardless. It does a great job of heating the water and does come with a thermometer to tell what the temperature of the water is. But I thought I could put it in the bucket of water while washing the car. Now I see that I would have to stop, take out the heater, turn it off or it might melt something and then continue to wash the car until the water cools off too much then go back and put it in the pail, turn it on, and wait again till the water was the right temperature and of course remove and turn off the heater before I could continue to wash the car! It's a pain to use this like that. So if you're going to order this to heat your pool remember to take it out of the water before letting the children or animals come in contact with the water. ... show more

  • A complete kit for heating water where the hot water hose can't reach.
The media could not be loaded. CONCLUSIONS: 100% recommended. This appliance is like an oversized version of the heater coils used to boil water in mugs to make coffee, but way bigger and a safer to use. This is great for heating water in plastic containers from 3 gallons up, depending on your patience. Just don't expect instant hod water. It has one significant limitation in that you can use this with clean water only. This is not meant to heat dirty water, other water-based liquids, or non-aqueous liquids. It comes with full illustrated directions, although written by someone who is not a native English speaker, so they are a bit awkward, but not difficult to understand. The box is sturdy and can be used for storage. TESTING: Along with the heater, the kit comes with a thermometer to measure the water temperature and a stainless steel scrubbing ball to clean off the scale that will eventually attach to the heater after a period of use. The heater cord is thick, but very pliable. The plug holds firmly in an outlet, but is easy to insert and remove. It does not come with an on/off switch. It powers on when you plug into the receptacle. I attached a plug-in switch (you can purchase them on Amazon) to control the power. I filled a five gallon bucket with 59 degree cold water, completely submerged the heater and turned it on while starting a timer. As seen in the video, the water temperature was over 120 degrees 21 minutes later. The switch and plug were slightly warm when I turned off the power, but no indication of overheating. I left the heater in the bucket for about a minute as directed, and it was safe to hold when I pulled it out. The tube drained and dried quickly. If you don't have a hose but you do have an extension cord, this is one way to bring hot water to places that are a little too far or to containers too heavy to carry when full. ... show more

  • Easy, very quick
Faster than my last one! Full tub in a few hours tops.

  • Heat's up quick and came with a digital thermometer that works!
Couple things to note, it's super important to me this is UL listed meaning it was tested and approved in electrical standards. In my tests heater heated up faster than promised which is a huge plus. The heater has a metal sheath cover that you can slide off if you can safely handle the exposed metal for slightly faster heating. This was perfect to heat up a bucket of water I wanted to use while washing my car, I'm a bit on the fence about using this in a bathtub so didn't try. Conclusion: I highly recommend this heater for excellent quality, good features, excellent heating speed, Lots of safety warnings, and even an digital thermometer! ... show more

  • Works fast
I filled up a bucket with about 2-3 gallons of water to see how quick this would heat it up. It's really nice that this comes included with the thermometer so I could check. The water started at 48°F and I plugged the heater in and went to get lunch. An hour later I came back to check an the water was 120°! If you want to heat up water fast, this does it well. It feels well built and the kit comes with a few extras that are nice. I assume the sandpaper and scratch pad are to clean any scaling off the heater, which will happen if there are minerals in your water. ... show more
