I didn't have high hopes for this given it's low price. I am actually pleasantly surprised by it. While definitely a budget spotting scope, it is perfectly functional. The tripod is adequate and functional, it is kind of thin metal with some sharp edges, it works perfectly fine. I took it out on my back deck and was able to read traffic signs several hundred yards away. It was a overcast and rainy day, scope was pretty dark at the higher magnifications, probably would be better under full light conditions. 20x to 40x was good though. Also includes a carrying case for the scope, but the tripod doesn't seem to fit in it. Overall, happy and pleasantly surprised by it.
