This 2-ton shop crane by Garvee is well-made with sturdy steel girders, solid welds, high-strength fasteners, and robust castors. The included load-leveling balancer is a bonus, and functions smoothly, making a full package with exceptional value for its most reasonable price. Working in tight quarters with the boom fully extended (1/2 ton position), this hoist easily lifted my engine, maneuvered it over the SIDE of the fender (hood removed) and enabled placement on an engine stand that fit comfortably between the legs of the hoist, requiring no modifications other than shortening the number of links on the balancer ahead of time to promote higher lift. It is a heavy unit, smartly shipped in two manageable boxes, but the packages suffered the usual flaws of flimsy padding and inadequate anchoring, so internal shifting during shipment from China caused boxes to tear. No parts were lost, but there was appreciable scarring of the otherwise high-impact paint finish in a number of places. Also on the negative side, “assembly instructions” are poor, based entirely on a barely legible diagram. I found it much easier to be guided by the full color image on the cover of the “manual.” One caution: when bolting on the castors, thread the bolts from the castor side upwards through the frame with washers and nuts above to allow enough room for the castors to swivel properly, adding a little oil on the bearings to help. Best of all, the hoist folds up nicely for compact storage, even in my single-car garage. Overall a great buy!

Great piece for the price, even included the leveling device with heavy duty chains. Assembled easily, all the part were there. My only suggestion would be to freshen up the images in the instructions, kind of fuzzy.

It is well made and barely got the job done. Was lifting a 500lb head off a Cummins ISX and one little pebble was all it took to make this picker tip fully over. The unit is made well, but the wheels are trash. Wheels aren't large enough and the pivot they cradle in is even worse, and not worth the material they're made of. They don't spin properly, even fully lubed up, then they collapsed/bent to the sides. I ABSOLUTELY DO NOT RECOMMEND this product unless you plan on upgrading the wheels FIRST! Makes for a very dangerous unit.

As advertised. Nice item. Unlike most imports everything fit. No alignment problems. Good thread on all hardware. Nice paint. Hydraulic cylinder worked right ot of box. Instructions not so much. By the way the large casters go on the ends of the out triggers. Lube the casters. Shipping was free FedEx to my door!
