This product works great and is a good value for the money. You definitely need to upgrade to the aluminum rollers for the cable guide. After approximately one month of use, the plastic rollers wore out. Decoded cable has already come apart but probably due to the plastic roller failure. I would suggest purchasing the aluminum cable rollers on Amazon for $17 to go with it! Also, there's no adjustment for cable tension or at least nothing easy

The lift assist appears to be well made and strong enough to lift my heavy duty gate easily. I had an issue with the rollers being too tight and not rolling which stripped the protective coating on the lift cables. I was able to fix the rollers by sanding down the ends to allow them to roll, and I reached out to the company to know about the issue. They were quick to respond and gave a satisfactory resolution to replace the damaged cables. For the price, I don't think I could have found any better.

I bought this set to help me lift up the very heavy steel loading ramp / tailgate on my 7’ x 14’ side by side trailer. I’m a retired 70 year old engineer so I honestly thought I could improve on their mounting and cable routing. You can’t improve on what Gorilla invented and everyone else has copied. Save yourself a lot of time and aggravation and follow the instructions to the letter. There are a lot of You Tube videos on the installation if you have problems or just can’t figure it out. Once I installed them according to the instructions, they work perfectly. The ramp is easy to lift now and I can actually stop it in any position going up or down. I recommend this easy lift kit as long as you follow the included (but very basic) instructions.

Installed but down one side cable snapped 1st day out using the other side cable loop came apart on the gate got in touch with the company on the 1st brake sending out replacement if both sides aren't included ill return it ......buy a name brand one that's on my other trailer that works great......update they sent a new spring with cable ill be returning for a refund and going with a name brand

Luckily my man was able to figure out assembly. Because our box came without instructions. I was able to pull a video of a different product being installed and that told him what he needed to know. He can now lift the heavy gate with one finger. Excellent.
