These are great splitting wedges. They are easy to start hitting into the wood. The variation on the sides of the wedge seem to help split the wood. They are solid and heavy. One caution I would give is do not have them hit into a knot in the wood. They will get stuck. Because of their design they easily go into the wood. Banging them into a knot will not split the wood. I ended up having to use an axe to chop away at the log so that I could extract both wedges (of course I was stupid enough to try and get the first wedge out by nailing in the second one. Overall they are a great value for the money and are very effective. I would definitely recommend them!

The split logs earlier and do not get stuck often like other wedges I've used, they are a nice heavy weight and have been very sturdy

Works well and is nice to have a second wedge in case the first one needs "assistance". Not an issue for me, but... the red paint scrapes off easily - on the logs and sledge hammer. Did they use too much or Inferior quality paint?

Horrible functioning. You can't split large wood with these, do yourself a favor and buy a normal wedge.

Didn't work on a large laurel oak logs that we have after having a tree taken down following a storm last year and they weren't working at all , just bouncing out or stopping an one in . I began to return them , but decided to try sharpening the point with an angle grinder. It helped a lot but they're still not as good I expected, or as good as a typical wedge shaped.
