The instructions are rather sparse but good enough to get it working. There are 16 different colors although some of the colors are just watered down versions of some of the other colors. All of the colors provide plenty of light no matter which one you choose. The light seems to operate on a difference of light rather than actual motion. This may require you to try different positions around the bowl to get the best operation. The control unit/battery pack hangs outside the bowl with a sturdy, flat, bar that easily bends over the edge of the bowl. I gotta say that having the bowl light up automatically, without a bright blinding light, is a pure pleasure. A big plus is that it doesn't destroy your night vision like the regular bathroom light does, so there no bumping into things when returning to bed 'cause you can't see. You get two of 'em. If you've only got 1 toilet, you could use one in a hallway or a closet where a little more light is needed. ... show more

What a cool light to have , numerous color choices, very easy to install, 2 double aa batteries and you are good to go, makes a great night light and the detection is really great and it detects from about 15 feet, I highly recommend it .

This product is pretty easy to configure and works great. I like the fact you can choose any color for the light and any intensity. The motion detection is sensitive which is perfect as it senses you are anywhere close. I also appreciated the duration timing of the light and the fact it was a steady light. This is an inexpensive product so don't expect it to last forever. One of my units completely flaked out and the other is coming apart.
