The first set I bought were not wide enough. My mistake, I clicked on the wrong size. But they did the trick until I reordered. I'm impressed with how decent they are for the price and the fact they are not a permanent, hard to install shade/blind. There is foil on the side facing the window for additional thickness. They are super sturdy and it feels like the adhesive will stay put. I did wipe down the area with rubbing alcohol. I get up at 2/3 a.m. for work, so I want to be asleep long before the sun sets. I have had no problem sleeping since I put these up. The pictures show more light coming through than what I'm seeing with my eyes.     • Just what I needed to shade my basement windows

I was looking for a inexpensive solution to shade my basement windows. The light was causing too much algae to grow in my fish tanks. I cut these to the size I needed and stapled them to the ceiling above the windows. Works perfect and does a great job.

Excuse the mess in my photo but as you can see the grey blinds do very little to block light. There is only a single layer white curtain on center French door and the grey blinds plus single layer white curtain on the side windows. There is hardly any difference in the amount light blocked with the addition of these blinds. They are easy enough to install. My 13 yr old cut and measured them to fit the window. Not sure how long they’ll last as I don’t think I’ll be keeping them up. I need something that will block light but that isn’t black. Cheap easy to install blinds that offer privacy but not light blocking. ... show more

    • Crazy difficult to remove even from glass.

The blinds themselves work fine. The problem is when you need to remove them. We had these up on two glass doors for about a week. It required a razor blade scraper, Goof Off, Windex and a lot of elbow grease. That adhesive is just not appropriate for a temporary blind. I can only imagine what it would be like on drywall or some other painted wall surface. I definitely would not choose these again. ... show more
