Since it is so easy to lose clippers this is an especially good buy. And the quality is much more than I expected. The action on both are smooth. They are sharp and make clean cuts. These shears are very easy to use. The spring action works seamlessly with minimal hand strength. They consistently open all the way when the handles are released. They cut flowers and stems really well. They are very sharp. The small shears are wonderful for the tinny leaf stems and other smaller garden items. This is a great set of sheers, well priced. Fits comfortably in the hand and easy to use. I have used them to trim small stuff like cleaning up indoor house plant branches and dead heading rose bush branches.

These pruners are good for light work. Both have decent springs for opening and closing the pruners as well as the ability to lock them when not in use. The fine scissors works well with fine details and the larger is able to cut a 1/2" thick branch pretty good that is as long as you maintain the sharpness on both. We use these pruning shears to manage our roses. They really come in handy for cutting off the dead blooms so my roses will produce more. Stainless steel means they can withstand the elements outside without deteriorating rapidly. We find that we are using them all the time - they have become our go to shears.     • Cheap and broke upon arrival
This was a cheap set and we had been looking for one. Both pairs for the price was a great deal. But the pair we needed the most is the curved blade and the locking mechanism is broke. It won't slide up to lock the blades. You would have to litterlly bang it on something to get it to lock and even then, it just barely slides in and keeps popping back open. They work fine but it's dangerous not being able to keep them closed, especially brand new out of the package. ... show more
