11 months from the time of purchase: - One light continues to flicker and has 1 panel out of 4 that has and has some of the LEDs out. 8 months from sometime I purchase : - Less than a full year, both light fixtures began to flicker. After inspecting both light fixtures, and ensuring that they are screwed in tightly, the problem seem to resolve on its own. Bright and great! You screw them in like any light bulb and turn the light on! IT IS BRIGHT! I bought these for the garage so they'll see some use which I hope helps with longevity (that remains to be seen) but when on, it is BRIGHT! I love them! Night and DAY difference (pun intended!) !     • YOUR LED RETROFIT: Which is more practical...tubes or screw-ins with adjustable LED panels?
THE DREAM: You'll refit your garage or workshop with an array of LED tubes that will blast so many photons down on your work area that you'll feel like you're working outdoors in Saudi Arabia when it's 10:00 p.m......in Seattle...in January. And they'll last for 50,000 hrs. Yup. You might not even live long enough to witness their decline. THE REALITY: On the permanent-to-disposable spectrum, LED lights are somewhere in the middle. You probably won't get even half the advertised life span, but they're still the most affordable source of illumination out there. So it doesn't really make sense to spend hours rewiring your workspace for LED tubes that are going to need their own installation brackets and will use proprietary 3-6 ft. cables to connect them together, especially is you already have ordinary Edison sockets in the right place. Whatever LED setup you decide on, plan on periodic replacement of the LED-embedded fixture. Nothing lasts as long as you'd like it to. Adjusting the angle of the panels is helpful, so if you have reflector shields on your sockets that would get in the way of that, take them off. Even if you have to add or move sockets for ideal placement, that's a relatively cheap and easy tweak. If you're putting in new sockets from ground zero, try to place them above the rafters so that you don't carelessly smash the light to smithereens when your attention is absorbed with the task of moving that 4 x 8 sheet of plywood to the other side of the garage. The light is dazzlingly bright. Is it really 12000 lux? Who knows? It's BRIGHT. It's also a good design for projecting the light where you need it so you may not need as many as you think. I ordered on sept 28,2022 and one of them has just recently had a couple of the panels to quit working because I’ve had a bird in a building that likes to sit on top of the light, and we all know what birds do when they sit anywhere , so it has caused that to over heat and quit working.
