Just got these things for Spring garden/yard work season this year. Replacing 10+ year old brass valves I bought when I first moved in. One of the original all-brass ones sprung a leak, as if it'd freeze cracked. Could've been, but I don't leave my hoses pressurized ever - I always open the valves when done - though I also don't always bring them in for the Winter. Anyway, these new hose valves have incredibly smooth action, and are very comfortable in hand. Very pleased so far. I'm glad they're metal bodied. I couldn't believe when I saw some items listed that were plastic bodied. Like, what? Ridiculous. It's tough shopping on Amazon these days. Overwhelming with all the junk and pop-up companies selling the same thing. Bit a crap shoot with some of the junk you just can't believe has made it through manufacture. Volume business model I guess - push the junk and count on most of the people to be too tired or lazy to return. Always a pleasure when I come across something of pleasing quality. do not buy. they leak, there is "play" between the part where you thread onto the spout and the main body containing the shutoff. when you move the spout, water leaks/spray from the water pressure

    • High quality, beware clearance size against house siding

Adapter is high quality and probably works well at other locations. Did not work at my house. Extra Siding was added over original siding. Water spigot is now very close to house siding. This adapter has quarter inch extensions, which make it easier to turn, but on my house were just enough not to clear siding. So I can't use them. ... show more
