I used this to create a passive intake in a grow tent. I purchased an exhaust hose flange, inserted that into one of the vent holes at the bottom of the tent, and capped it on the outside with this filter. The idea is to block dust, bugs and hopefully some light from getting in. It does that, but it also happens to block a lot of air. I had to dramatically lower the fan settings, which requires that I keep the fan on longer in order to cycle air into/out of the tent. It could have done the same job while being substantially thinner. That said, it's snug, easy to mount, and blocks a great deal of light from passing through it. ... show more

Not a true 4 inch ID so it’s super tight and has a very thick piece of what looks to be carbon fabric that limits air flow instead of letting it pass through. Trash.

The sleeve on these covers is elastic, and doesn't cover but about an inch and a half, so with flexible mylar ducting the elastic squeezes the cover off before you can tie the strings. It difficult, but you can get them attached. The filter matrix is a big plus. Maybe increase the sleeve depth to 3 inches and just use regular material instead of elastic. ... show more
