I got these bulbs as spares for my smaller 13 inch lava lamp that came with a rated 25 Watt bulb. The power and size of the bulbs are as advertised, and I am happy with their performance so far. They come safely packed in foam inside a cardboard box. The overall bulb lengths for my two bulbs are 2.493 in. and 2.475 in. Using a Kill A Watt power meter, I did a short test and found these bulbs will run just slightly above rated wattage: 26 Watts at 118.4 VAC at the receptacle. For comparison, the original bulb also runs at 26 Watts. I have not run these long term, so I cannot advise on their longevity, but will update if/when my original bulb burns out and I install one of these. ... show more

I picked these up because I needed a new bulb for a lava lamp I got my wife, and these work perfectly. They're incandescent, because the purpose of them is to actually heat up the lava lamp as well as illuminate, and they do exactly that. I really like the packaging because the reason I needed them was that the bulb the lamp came with was damaged during shipping, and these ones come so well packed I am confident they can make it through even poor shipping conditions. These 25 watt reflector bulbs are just about right for lamps sold in the United States. The reflector does a better job of melting the wax and a regular round bulbed incandescent lamp. Chinese-made lamps sold in the United States are an inconsistent lot. Sometimes a lamp requires a 25 watt bulb and a this bulb is the exact correct bulb and makes the lamp bloop just exactly as it should. Sometimes lamps made by the same company want a slightly higher voltage. Not quite 30 watts, but higher than 25. Unfortunately, you never know which you really need until your attempt to run the lamp a couple of time. So my advice is start here. If your lamp lavas well on the 25 watt. Power on. If after having been on a few hours, you notice your lamp doesn't seem to be doing much - the bloops are heavy, or it's created stalactites, but not much else - move up to a 30 watt bulb and buy a dimmer. ... show more

    • Ruined the wax inside the lava lamp

The media could not be loaded. Edit- dropping down to one star. I put these Lights and two different lava lamps and it ruined the wax in both of them. The wax has turned into a gross looking wad of cauliflower that is stuck floating at the top of the lamp. My guess is it was too hot and caused air to get trapped in the wax. Either way it ruined both lava lamps. Avoid We had a power surge recently and it blew out the light in one of my kids lava lamps. I attempted to determine if the lamp went bad or if it was just the bulb by taking the bulb out of my other kids lava lamp and in the process the bulb came apart...(Lame) So I took a risk and ordered this 2 pack. Happy to say that upon installing the bulbs both lamps are now working perfectly. Would highly recommend. ... show more
