No more cables to connect my phone. The device sends a signal to the in car that announces it is a CarPlay device. First connection to Bluetooth will require adding the adapter’s WiFi hotspot to your phone. After that starting your car, activates the device, and your phone will connect to the WiFi for the CarPlay interface. There is a slight latency, but it works great. Good value and excellent, simple to use device.

I wasn't able to connect my android to the android auto aspect of this device, so I returned the item. Maybe it would work better with an apple device. ( I have a 2024 Honda Hrv sport for reference)
